Looked that way to me. i don't recall seeing him hit a ball any better than the home run he hit his first time at bat.

Gumpez always gets a lot tougher once enough of his teammates arrive to get between him and his adversary and “hold him back.” He had ample opportunity to punch McCann before his teammates arrived, but he managed to restrain himself. McCann wasn’t the guy moving backward.

Travis Snider of the Pirates put Gumpez on his butt with a solid right back in 2014. When Gump got up off the ground he was looking for someone to hold him back. He didn’t want any more of Snider. Russell Martin wanted a piece of Gump. Wish they had left Martin alone and let him do what he wanted to do:

I still want to see him adjusting to the ball and not guessing. But whether it's a wrist or the lats, he's still guessing. But he smokes the ball when he guesses right.

Like I said on another thread, starting Marisnick against RHP makes even less than no sense. The only explanation I can think of is AJ likes tweaking the fanbase and getting it hot and bothered
