The official word was that Gurriel and Stassi left yesterday's game due to dehydration symptoms including cramping.
Maybe Tyler White will get a start at 1B to let Gurriel rest? I presume McCann was scheduled for today regardless.

Well, looks like Hinch didn't like my Tyler White idea. Here's the lineup:
George Springer (R) CF
Alex Bregman (R) 3B
Jose Altuve (R) 2B
Carlos Correa (R) SS
Yuli Gurriel (R) 1B
Josh Reddick (L) RF
Evan Gattis (R) DH
Marwin Gonzalez (S) LF

Carrasco is on the DL after a comebacker hit his elbow. Indians are having a hard time getting fans to come out to their games (19,000 avg attendance) in spite of being in first place. So I wonder if they get aggressive and try to trade for SP. It might change the playoff picture somewhat if they do.

I could be wrong,but, I doubt if the towels were being dipped in pure ice water yesterday. I can remember a potion we used back in the day that worked great on hot days......It was crushed ice water, lemon juice, and Spirits of Camphor mixed. Dip towels in it and apply it to arms and around the neck. You had to be careful to keep it away from the eyes. That may or may not be what they are using but it beats pure ice water.

Astros have put up an OPS of .886 in this month of June prior to tonight's game. Compare with OPS figures in the .740's for April and May.

I know errors aren't everything when looking at overall defensive value, but anybody that thinks Bregman is a GG candidate is way wrong.

Only Devers of Boston (14) and Chapman from Oakland (11) have more errors than Bregman among AL 3rd basemen.

Maybe take a pitch next AB Springer. Two AB’s 2 groundouts. 69 DP’s. I thought George's approach on the first AB was reasonable -- try to see if he can tag a first-pitch fastball for a HR and throw the pitcher off kilter. But he needs to slow things down for the subsequent ABs. With Merrifield out of the game, the Astros really must win this game. |

On average, we see one Astros GIDP per game, but these games where they do it 3 or 4 times do get annoying
