Are the SP’s getting tired? The home runs are flying off them recently.V Verlander is over 110 IP this year. Fatigue is one factor; rising temperatures is another. The ball wasn't flying much in those first few weeks of the season. |

If JV or any other starter needed 10 days on the DL to rest up, the three choices for replacement starter on the 40-man are: Peacock, McHugh, Cionel Perez.
McHugh is probably the obvious choice, but I'd like to see how Perez handles MLB hitters. It could be considered a tryout for postseason lefty reliever. If the season ended today, my guess is that Sipp makes the postseason roster. But a lot could change by September so it's good to know what the other options are. We've seen a little of Guduan already and Boshers has shown he is solid at being a ho-hum 3.50ish AAA pitcher.
