If the Astros can make Estrada get up to 80 or more pitches this inning, he probably exits after or during the 5th. That forces them to have to throw two innings of risky relief.

Seen enough of George too.

Valencia is not a big enough upgrade to be worth the prospects, imo. Go get a legit proven hitter or don't. A 104 career OPS+ isn't worth it. it's true, if Valencia reverts to his career average, he's be a marginal upgrde at best. But if he keeps up this 127 OPS+ stuff, he'd be great. Sure, but do you really think he can?

How polite of George to let Estrada give up two hits and a walk in one inning but no runs.

I honestly haven't watched too many Orioles games this year to say. The stat sheet looks impressive though. I always liked Valencia when he was with the A's. And if you've ever played a video game called Out of the Park, you know the video game version of Valencia just seems to crush everything.

Not a good line for the day, but really good work by Keuchel to bounce back and keep us in this game.

Poor ABs by Marwin and Altuve are really hurting the team in this game.

Some have suggested a reunion with Jed Lowrie. He's really been solid since leaving the Astros and I would trust him to maintain his offensive production more than I would Valencia.

The Astros need to make this Estrada's last inning. If they do, they will have good chances to score in the 8th and 9th.

If Marwin and Dallas keep going for the rest of the season like they are, Boras will have his work cut out for him convincing teams that they are the magic elixir that will cure whatever ails them. Boras will fire them as clients

So, with this Valencia guy...is there any indication that he’s available, an improvement, and likely a target? Or did you just see some stat somewhere and then make a bunch of posts about him all of a sudden?

So, with this Valencia guy...is there any indication that he’s available, an improvement, and likely a target? Or did you just see some stat somewhere and then make a bunch of posts about him all of a sudden? Maybe I'm Valencia's agent. Or maybe, as bad as the Orioles are, it makes sense that anybody who'a free agent at the end of this season is available from their team (Adam Jones and Mychal Givens are two guys the Astros might want to look at). Valencia and Marwin have virtually identical career OPS numbers, but Valencia is having a much better season this year and hits both righties and lefties well. I can't imagine the Astros wanting to hold on to Marwin and I also don't think the Orioles would expect a major prospect in return for Valencia. We could give them Marwin and Toro and call it a day.
