I was thinking he would move up quickly if the college ball is the equivalent of AA. Of course, I don't know that much about the quality of baseball where he played.

Valencia is not a big enough upgrade to be worth the prospects, imo. Go get a legit proven hitter or don't. A 104 career OPS+ isn't worth it.

The Blue Jays only have a couple of quality relief innings they can count on (one from Tepera and one from Loup). After them, they have relievers to go to, but all guys with 4+ ERAs, including two who pitched yesterday.

it's true, if Valencia reverts to his career average, he's be a marginal upgrde at best. But if he keeps up this 127 OPS+ stuff, he'd be great.
