White sporting the .333 BA now with 3 walks to boost that OBP. Off to a good start. White and Kemp are really increasing their trade value and making some things hard for Mr Brainiac Luhnow. White has had a couple close umpiring calls go against him too. I think most 1B umpires would have said he didn't go around on that "strikeout" he had earlier today, and if the fielder's choice call in the KCR game had been ruled an infield hit, his stat line would look even better. AAA pitchers haven't been able to keep White off base this year and it's heartening to see that translate to the major league level. Also, very significant that White got both those hits off righties. He's never had trouble hitting lefties; it's the righties he's had to improve against since 2016. |

Nearly all the offense came from the 6 through 9 hitters today.
Hinch needs to sit Springer a game and go with Kemp - Reddick - Marisnick in the OF tomorrow.
Let White play 1B in Yuli's absence and go with those hot bats.

Yet I was attacked for saying that Springer for all the Hype is not the Big Shot player everyone makes him out to be. Someone said he might be able to bring it back to .269 and find that acceptable for one of the supposedly big bats Do you need a hug, son? Apparently he does, he is going off on the WS MVP. |

McCann looked better at the plate than I've seen him in a long time. Maybe he just needed to get whacked over the head on that backswing the other day.
I wonder if it would have straightened Gomez out. Probably should try it on Springer, can't hurt.

Great pitching and a big home run from Jake Marisnick and that was the game........another bad night for George, but, I'm sure old AJ will have him leading off again tomorrow. I know he is trying......probably too hard......to end this slump. It is obvious his timing is way off and hopefully with the coaches and the help of some video, he can get that timing back. He is capable of carrying the offense when he is right.
Now, I think bortaz should open an appreciation thread for Jake from Rake Farm!!
