54-28 .659 winning percentage 3.5 games up in the division .5 games behind Boston for the MLB lead. 1st in run differential at +174 Team OPS+: 121 Team ERA+: 131
Top-5 WAR Players:
1. Altuve 4.0 2. Verlander 3.6 3. Bregman 3.5 4. Correa 2.8 5. Cole 2.4
McCullers vs. Stanek
Very limited ABs for both teams against the opposing pitchers, but Stanek has made us look bad so far. The plus side is that he likely won't be in there beyond 2-3 innings. We're great on the road, normally, so hopefully we can get this series off to a good start and keep the momentum from last night's walk off. I expect McCann and Marisnick to be in the sarting lineup and Correa should be back. Hopefully a few days off will have him nice and rested. I wouldn't be surprised if Springer saw a day off today.

it's time to give Stanek his first earned run of June.
It it's any consolation, he's faced the Yankees 3 times this month and the Mariners 3 times also, and no one has scored on him.
He's recorded 8 outs against the Astros so far without giving up a run or a hit. It's time to channel that inner Beltran and identify Stanek's weaknesses. He must have some, right?
I seem to recall from the previous games that the Astros were swinging away pretty wildly at his stuff. The manager won't let Stanek throw more than 30 pitches, so perhaps one strategy is just to be patient and let him tire himself out. Once his pitch count hits 20, it's time to attack.

“I wouldn't be surprised if Springer saw a day off today.“ - Saint But, but,....who gonna bat first? We can’t afford to give George a day off!! - AJ Since George is on the road and probably had the chance to sleep last night instead of "working", he could go out and have a big game. If AJ has him in the lineup as we can expect him to be, he will be leading off. If he gets 2-3 hits, it could be an indicator as to why he sucks at home. He is in a 6-58 slump and Hinch has shown no signs of concern, which, makes me questions AJ's judgment. on another note, why the hell would they call up AJ Reed? They called up White and haven't used him hardly at all. Why not bring up Tucker??

I had a player in high school who was 17 years old with two little illegitimate bastards running around......He and his homies thought it upped his social status. Of course, like most of them, he was not paying one dime to support them so we the taxpayers were footing the bill.

Most of us know about the imagination of an old wannabe who said he would be off for awhile working with all-stars in Florida. One of many wild tales to his credit.

I would never just call a take on any pitch. But reduce the zone for which you will swing and let the rest go when facing a wild pitcher or crazy umpire.

I was right about McCann and Marisnick. Springer is still in but Correa is still out. White is in. On paper it's a bad offensive lineup after Gattis. Gotta hope for the best though!

That is true...I agree with being sure he is Ok before he plays. I am sure they are having him thoroughly examined.

This game is about Cash hedging his bets on hitters not being able to make adjustments against his in-flux pitching moves. That’s why Stanek is dominating. I think this is one time where the Astros may need to attack any strikes they see. These Tampa relievers are going to go all out since they aren’t pitching many innings.
