In the 32 games he has pitched this year he has given up runs in only 7 of them. And only three of those games were more than one run. As for being a "closer" or not, I wouldn't mess with Rondon since he is doing fine, but Giles has 12 saves in all 12 save opportunities with a 0.00 ERA and a WHIP of .667 in those situations. It's the non-save situations where he has really struggled for whatever reason (psychological, I'm sure). Again, I'm not saying Giles is awesome or anything (he isn't), but he can close out most games for us just fine. I'd never bring him in a tie game though. What I can't forget is when the Yankees lit him up at home when Hinch brought him into a tie game that was scoreless due the hard work of Verlander. It took Giles about 5 minutes to give up a three-run bomb to Sanchez and cost us the game. Then, he got lit up again in Cleveland and blew a game we had won. He is a head case. Yeah but you also think Altuve is an idiot so your opinion is suspect at best.  |

It took Giles about 5 minutes to give up a three-run bomb to Sanchez and cost us the game. Then, he got lit up again in Cleveland and blew a game we had won. He is a head case. Yeah but you also think Altuve is an idiot so your opinion is suspect at best. From some of the ridiculous opinions you have posted, your opinon is less than suspect. It borders on pure ignorance. If you think Giles has proven he can be trusted to save games in big situations, you either have not been paying attention or you are too dumb to know what makes a good, reliable closer.  And, if you think Altuve has not been making decisions both at the plate and on the bases at times that make him look dumb, thenk you don't know squat about the game.....Wasn't it you who brought up the idea of trading Bregman?  Since you have exhibited your lack of knowledge, I would advise you to refrain form calling anyone's opinion "suspect". I can assure you that more people agree with me about Giles than they do with you. Most refuse to acknowledge the bad decisions made by Altuve because of what he has accomplished. I am a big fan of Altuve and would not trade him for any player in the game, but, that does not mean that I'm blind to the fact that hew makes dumb decisions at times. |

Marwin only had 3 hits in his last 13 games. He needs to sit. he definitely needs to sit.......for quite awhile, Last year, he played with a lot of enthusiasm........that appears to be lacking right now., At times, he is just down right lazy. |
