62-32 .660 winning percentage 4 games up over Seattle (10 over Oakland) 2.5 games behind Boston for the overall lead Hopefully Correa will be back after the AS Break...and Springer's slump is over....still wanting a solid, veteran bat...anything to give the team that extra chance in repeating....as we know, the days of making the playoffs are not the primary objective anymore....

And of course an arm or two for the bullpen....everything else from within.

Wouldn't be shocked to see the Astros pursue a closer. Use Rondon as a setup. I'm not even including face-puncher in the equation.

Face-Puncher sounds like the Aliens creature facehugger....Giles, at best right now, is 7th inning guy, and that is at best.....he is headed to this territory: Astros are losing heavily, and it would be between him pitching or a positional player..... You know it is bad, when people see Giles coming in, and asking why not Sipp? And despite Sipp's 2018, I feel the Astros chances are better without him being on the mound.

Addition by subtraction is sometimes a good thing.........SUBTRACT THE SQUATTER.

I would be happy with any of those 3....Abreu is the best hitter of those 3, but maybe overall, his need for the team, maybe the least...If Luhnow got one of those 3, I know the team will be better.

Merrifield gives us better OF depth this year and fills Marwin's role next couple years after. Ramos fills a need right now and is the most productive bat of the three, at the moment. Give him a qualifying offer and let him go. If he accepts, we have him and Stassi all set next year and they can also DH some if Gattis is gone. Abreu crowds things this year but provides some offensive depth. Next year he could full-time DH.

Just a note. While researching the calculation of the qualifying offers, I saw that they only apply if the team had them on their roster all year. Any new pickup for the post season run would not be eligible to receive a qualifying offer.

At this point, I think we need a catcher worse than anything other than relief pitching....Ramos or Realmuto should be targets....I'd go for Realmuto first because Ramos is a rental.

I'm waiting to find out whether they call up a Shortstop. If they do, then both Correa and Gonzales may be unavailable for a while. They will not go without a backup at SS for long.

I'd give them Kemp, White, and Reed for Realmuto and make them take Giles off our hands.

You and voodoo must be related, your trade offer is so out of whack. Would you trade those three for Realmuto? If not, why not? Kemp is blocked in the outfield and at second base. White and Reed are both AAA players who can't cut it, .So, I'd deal them go a good catcher who would be around awhile.

I’m with Todd on this one. Abreu is a bad defender and is a slug on the basepaths. Merrifield has speed, decent defense, is versatile, and has a little bit of pop. Ramos addresses a need at catcher.

Then he calls up other managers for a trade yelling "See, he good. What can we get for him?"
