well I just read something else that says that implies that maybe the prices are not right. So maybe we do make a deal if the prices drop. Hell who knows, he likes to keep things close to the chest. Only his Teddy Bear knows...but he better be careful, if that bear gets struck by lightning, then everyone will know...

That was not what he said last night......he is still watching to see who is on waivers that could fall to us. I would take Cutch over Donaldson, especially now I find out Lydia doesn't like Josh...after her GM post yesterday, I am minding my Ps and Qs... Definitely.

I am still hoping for a solid, veteran bat

Lunhow says he is still watching the Waiver wire. Its 50/50 chance of an add.
Saying that I heard Astros did claim Harper. But as you know Dodgers where ahead of them.
So a player like Josh Donaldson might not be a bad idea to add. He could be resigned if your willing to let Gattis and Marwin go. Which I think most would be ok with.

Idk with them saying Lance McCullers to the pen to extend him and his health would mean someone has to be moved up
McHugh or Peacock
The problem with Morton is he is being used more then he has. We will run into this with all these pitchers.
I would think SP need to be limied to there innings. But you could see a add to the rotation and or a Bat
Josh Donaldson is that splash move like last year last second. Makes you think he could be resigned due to his Injury and the fact he might wanna be on a winning club for a change. Chances to win a World series are few and far between.
So you can count out the Braves on Donaldson they just got Duda

If Duda doesn’t use Camptown Races as his walk up music, then he’s missing a great opportunity.

From mlb.com:
“According to an MLB.com source, Donaldson felt soreness in his legs one day after he began a rehab assignment Tuesday for Class A Advanced Dunedin. Donaldson went 1-for-2 with a walk and played five innings in the field during his first game action since May 28.
Dunedin's game on Wednesday night was postponed because of rain, but Donaldson was not going to be in the starting lineup. Dunedin will instead play a doubleheader on Thursday, and it's not immediately clear whether Donaldson will be able to take the field.
It's believed the Blue Jays were hoping to move Donaldson to another team before the end of the week. Teams have until 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday to acquire players and have them eligible for the postseason. That still might be able to happen with Donaldson, but his health, or lack thereof, will be a major sticking point.
According to another source, there are three criteria for trading a player who is about to be removed from the disabled list:
1. The player has served the minimum amount of DL time and is eligible to be reinstated.
2. The club trading the player in question certifies that he is healthy.
3. The player will be active on the Major League roster immediately upon joining his new team.
The only way Donaldson can be traded is for the Blue Jays to confirm that he is healthy, and for Major League Baseball's medical director to confirm that is the case along with the medical staff of whatever team he goes to. It's still unclear whether Donaldson would pass any of those tests two days away from the postseason roster deadline.”
If Luhnow ever had any interest in Donaldson, I think that can be laid to rest now.

It would be a 4 million dollar gamble. For another chance at the WS. You take it and he blows the doors off your a genious. You take it and he gets hurt you didn't hurt your team. You just lost 4million bucks. That's the way you have to look at it.
I would rather take that chance

Donaldson was a huge if no matter what, and even more so now. If Cutch falls to us, get him. Otherwise, what we got is what we got.

I believe Cutch has already cleared waivers so he should be available, if Luhnow wants him. With the way Marwin has come on recently and with White hitting like he is, Luhnow probably doesn’t feel a need to pay much to add a bat. That said, I would feel more comfortable with McCutchen roaming LF than Marwin.

"I'll be satisfied if we don't do anything, but it doesn't mean we don't continue to look for things." - Jeff Luhnow
I'm expecting a trade for TROUT now...

I like your lineup and batting order..., though you and I both know that Springer, Bregman, Altuve and Correa at 1-4 is etched in stone and permanently attached to the clipboard. Absolutely no way will AJ dislodge Correa from #4 and move him down in the order in favor of White.

I want Bregman to bat 3rd, but I believe he gets great protection from Altuve and Correa despite their struggles, namely from Carlos.
