Andrew McCutchen to Yankees..... Does that mean we passed, or the Yankees blocked us being ahead in the line

That's not good. Not only did we not get him, but one of our main competitors did...

All the chatter is talking about how Correra is 11 for 76 since comming off the DL. And watch Donaldson he will be traded no matter what..... To whom IDK. I hope us.

Add a 0 for 4 to Correra.

Yankees get McCutchen so we can cross him off the list

I just don't think Josh Donaldson is going to fix that McCutchen in LF Gonzalez at 1B White at DH Enough with the foolishness with Gurriel. Well you quash that idea with McCutchen as the Yankee's picked him up. He will be the hitter that gives us hell in the Playoffs if they get that far.

I really think Luhnow has an issue with making trades at this time of year. Yes he got Verlander but that was probably because of Verlander ok it to the Astros and not someone else.

I mean are they just going to wing it with González, Gurriel, Reddick, etc.? They’ve shown spurts of offense here and there but nothing consistent. I think that’s a mistake. Surely, McCutchen wouldn’t have garnered top prospects since the Giants were eager to get almost anything for him.

That's not good. Not only did we not get him, but one of our main competitors did... no shock.....Hinch loves his prospects so he passed on McCutchen and now the Skanks get him.

I wish we would get Smoak now that Luhnow handed Cutch to the Yankees

“Astros catcher Martin Maldonado has enlisted the Boras Corporation to represent him in his upcoming free agency, reports Jon Heyman of Fancred ”
This should put an end to any speculation about Maldonado signing with the Astros after the end of this season.

I don't completely disagree, but we don't know what the Giants asked for (if we even did kick the tires on him). The one prospect that was named as going to the Giants was rated the Yankees #23 by MLB.com. Surely the other will be a lesser prospect. Our #23 is Jonathan Arauz. I would have given the Giants Arauz and a non-Top 30 prospect for Cutch.

I'll say it again.
All talks are Correra 11 for 80 Since comming off the DL.
Watch for Donaldson. Could be a target and the Astros could resign him and let Marwin and Gattis walk at the end of the yr.
Astros where previously linked to Donaldson about two years ago.

After missing out on Cutch, if Donaldson could be had for a song, do it. Toronto seems pretty desperate to be rid of him.

Donaldson or no Donaldson Gattis and Marwin will be allowed to walk this offseason. Gattis’ replacement batted 5th last night, behind our .234-slugging-in-the-month-of-August cleanup batter. Kemp and Davis will likely cover for the loss of Marwin.

He probably will, but I just can’t see Luhnow submitting to Boras’s demands in negotiations, unless; of course, Boras learned a lesson last offseason when the majority of the owners/GM’s passed on the players he represented and overpriced.

I seem to recall something about Donaldson being a jerk/bad teammate? Or am I misremembering?

While I don't like the Yankees getting Cutch' I do like the fact that they have loaded up via the trade this year just to miss the WS (I hope).

I understand that everyone's upset about McCutchen, but from how I understand the waiver process works is if the Yankees are ahead of us in line and claim him off waivers, there's nothing that Luhnow could have done about it

Again Cutch has cleared waivers a week ago.
