He respects Trout. He just really likes Altuve.

If there was even a chance that the Angels would deal him to us for anything (never ever), he would be better than anybody in our core. Even....ALTUVE! Don’t tell Bortaz that. Three indisputable facts: Trout is the best player in the game Saint has been underestimating Altuve since Jose was in AA You panic when any player goes 0/2

Three indisputable facts: Trout is the best player in the game Saint has been underestimating Altuve since Jose was in AA You panic when any player goes 0/2 I panic when the star players take ugly hacks on offense at waste pitches for a prolonged period of time, which almost everyone in the lineup has been doing, even my heroes Altuve and Marwin. The offense has been a disappointment even for the most “rah rah” of fans, who of course will never admit it.

However, Trout has cooled off considerably and deserves some ire for his offense recently. Didn’t he go hitless this past series against us? It doesn’t matter who you are, when you do well or when you struggle, it’s okay for others to respectively praise or complain about such performances. Marwin González earned my respect when he homered off Kenley Jansen in the World Series, which may have started the mental turnaround of the Astros and also arguably was the most important moment of the postseason. I have no qualms with anyone critiquing his abysmal performance at the plate. When anyone complains about Altuve, Springer, Correa, etc. it’s because they have high expectations with these guys. When you’re a superstar, especially when you’re the MVP, criticism comes with the territory because you’re under the microscope. It’s not like anyone wants to send them to Fresno for Davis or White.

Trout is lapping the field with a 3.5 WAR already even with his "cool off". He's flat out amazing and still only 26. Beast. This. Also, it's because they tend to be more peoples' favorite players, so emotional highs and lows are more extreme.

This. Also, it's because they tend to be more peoples' favorite players, so emotional highs and lows are more extreme. Agreed. I mean I like Altuve as much as the next guy, but criticizing aspects of his game doesn’t mean I hate the guy. I’m not like some other poster here who questioned his intelligence.

You're basically calling me a white devil and I find that offensive. P.S. Correa damn well better drive in that run.

I could be wrong, but, Correa keeps giving the edge to the pitcher by always being behind in the count because he nearly always takes the first pitch. The pitcher picks up on that, gives him a fastball that he takes, and the pitcher immediately has the advantage. I have always wondered why he thinks he has to take the first pitch when that has been the best pitch to hit most of the time.

But according to ESPN, Trout is having the best season EVER in the history of baseball (Despite being on pace for less than 100 RBIs, 45 HRs and batting under .300) Apparently WAR means everything now- no matter if you make the playoffs or not

I could see Correa still learning the hitting approach. It worked for him early but now it is being caught on. Won't be long before the hitting coach yells "NOW!" and he starts hitting those first pitches over the fence.

Baserunning, defense, etc. It's all relative.

Former poster with an alias of Marshall You couldn't be more wrong. I have enough trouble with my own account which prevents me from setting up an alias.
You should know that with how long it took me to find reddit. Thanks again by the way.
But I did know him from the board and he sent me a copy of his Children's Book when it was published.
ps He's from Florida and I'm a native Texan.
pss I wouldn't have know Tom Petty from the man on the moon.
