When thinking about what hitter(s) to trade for, it might make sense to see how they have hit at MMP in the past.

Here is a list of the top hitters at MMP from 2016-2018 (min 20 PAs)

MLb.com has suggested the Padres want a young, controllable, everyday third baseman like Rafael Devers in exchange for Brad Hand. It makes me wonder if Davis might go there -- Devers is hitting for .750 OPS over his career, which will almost certainly be topped by Davis.

We have an awful lot of players eligible for rule 5 at the end of the season. You might as well get something for them before they go.

It sounds the package that went to KCR for Herrera was not very extravagant, and would have been easy for the Astros to match. I wonder if Luhnow was taken by surprise that Herrera went this early. He may have thought Herrera would still by available come late July and was waiting to make a hard offer then.

Moustakas ticks the box of hitting RHP well; OPS over .850 against righties this year.

His two most recent MMP home runs came off of McCullers and Fister. He's also had success against Fiers, Feldman, Sipp, and a few others. 

One possibility, since Gattis has been so bad at MMP, is that Moustakas becomes the "Home DH" and Gattis the "Away DH". Moustakas could relieve Bregman or Gurriel at 1B/3B on rest days or in special situations too.

see .. that tells me right there we packaged Moran in an offer for Hand to them in a trade talk last season .. and they said no. Now Preller realizes he fuctup

I didn't know anything about Osuna's personal life when I suggested he might be a trade target.

If the accusations are true, that's horrible. Then again, I also believe it's important to let people have a fair trial (if it's a criminal matter) and a fair hearing or appeal process (if it's a violation of MLB rules but not the law). There is such a thing as false accusation.

I can't remember what the charge is (I think it's assault) but this is likely a seriousness of the charge sanction. I would assume there's enough evidence for a grand jury
to convene at this point .. not knowing anything about law. Maybe I should post a link to the story where I found it

I wouldn't go that far. It 's an old joke that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich if they choose to. The standard on paper is rarely met in practice.

That's why a politically motivated Special Prosecutor is so dangerous.

I am probably one of the few here that thinks we need a more consistent Big Bat that is comparative to Correa or Springer. Springer and Correa both came up with a chance to put the Astros on the board on more than one occasion. Isn't that their Job.
