Moustakas to Brewers for Jorge Lopez and "guess who" Brett Philips
A once untouchable commodity has changed teams yet again.

Still sad that we traded away Hader, Phillips and Santana for that garbage of Gomez and Fiers. The good news is.... I think teams that benefit from the Astros previous trades are more apt to trade with Houston. This is how we were able to get Verlander and Cole I believe.

that is a good move, a better move would be to get a solid guy to pitch the 8th and once in a while 9th.

another thing that I find puzzling is why no trades of the talent in AAA. Is it because Luhnow is keeping them for depth or no one wants those guys.

I was just curious why you said you wanted to learn more about wRC+ .. but you're not a stat nerd. I don't know how wRC+ is calculated I have never learned to calculate any of them, but, a lot of people seem to think wRC+ is the most accurate and predictable. I have always relied on what I see. To me.........and I admit to being old school......batting average, hitting with runners in scoring position, strikeouts compared to walks, etc. if important. My entire point was that Stassi's OPS may be higher than Gurriel's but he is not a more productive hitter. Lately, he has been horrible. He's a decent backup and that's about it. Maldonado is an upgrade defensively.

Makes me wonder why I have never really been curious about them as much as I like to play with numbers.

I think the Barraclough (Bear Claw) guy would fit right in with the Astros way of thinking. He would Flourish under the Guidance of Brent, who seems to get the most out of players who listen and want to improve.

I had read an article that did Mention Barraclough and the Astros as he was a Good Fit for the Astros way of thinking I like Bear Claw, but he does have his share of baserunners. They don’t often score, though. He’s like Pressly in that he’d wean the Astros off of relievers like Harris and Devenski. He has great numbers despite being a tad shaky. I don’t think he’s good enough to oust Rondón, who’s been doing great as closer. The team still needs a decent bat.
