I'm not hating on the trade cause of the alleged crime as much as its potential to disrupt clubhouse vibes. When the manager has to call a meeting to tell the team to concentrate on winning, there's a problem there. If there's guys in the clubhouse who never thought Luhnow would trade for Osuna cause of the class-act he presented himself to be and now are upset about it as a consequence, like I said you got a problem there Based on recent play, seems maybe they needed a team meeting before this one. They're sucking on account for lack of talent and not concentrating apparently

Josh Donaldson, Andrew McCutchen perhaps even Joe Mauer or Adrien Beltre
I'd prefer Adam Jones though if I had a choice.
Still think Beltre, Mauer or even McCutchen could propel our team forward.
Maybe even Harper. In the waiver trade order I would go of those 4 (based on Who I like + anticipated cost) Cutch, Beltre, Harper and Jones

So, you only oppose domestic abuse by sub-par performers? If any of you would want Chapman on the team, you need to immediately stop hating on this trade. I'm not hating on the trade cause of the alleged crime as much as its potential to disrupt clubhouse vibes. That wasn’t conducive to winning and probably was discussed in this meeting.

Shawn Kelley DFA by the Nats. Good player He was DFA bc he had a Giles moment. He was brought in to pitch in a lopsided game, and then he started to get rocked. So he was mad to being in the game in the first place.

I doubt the Astros would be interested because they just had the same ordeal with Giles

Shawn Kelley DFA by the Nats. Good player ERA+ of 109 for his career, and doing even better this year (ERA+ 128). He's terribly inconsistent year-to-year but he sure is limiting the walks this season.

The Blue Jays have taken a flyer on Mike Hauschild.
With Teo, Giles, Perez, and now Hauschild, Toronto is really building a team full of ex-Grizzlies.

Also saw where Hauschild pitched a nice game last night and helped us out against the M's. 6 IP, 0 R, 4 H... Happy for him. OTOH, I see their manager didn't bring in Squatty in the 9th, with a 4 run lead. I wonder why?

If I recall correctly, Hauschild really pitched some good ball for Fresno a couple years ago when they won the AAA championship.

Osuna is expected to be activated today. McCullers and Kemp would appear to be good candidates to go on the DL. Which one or are both or neither is most likely to go today? I don't know the status of the 40 man. Will someone have to come off? Cionel was probably the likeley corresponding move before the events of last night.
If both go on the ten day, would you bring Tucker back for Kemp?

If I understand it correctly, every person on the 25 man roster is also on the 40 man roster and an additional 15 players in the organization are protected. If the 40 man roster was full and they added Osuna to the 25 man roster, then that would require dropping one player off the 40 man roster. But the Astros.com roster shows 38 on the 40 man roster and if correct, we have two spots available.

By trading away Giles and one or two other guys, Luhnow created some space there. No need to DFA anyone or put someone through waivers in order to accommodate Osuna. However someone will have to leave the active roster and go to Fresno or Corpus.

The Oakland Athletics acquired right-handed starter Mike Fiers from the Detroit Tigers on Monday in exchange for two players to be named later or cash considerations.

The Oakland Athletics acquired right-handed starter Mike Fiers from the Detroit Tigers on Monday in exchange for two players to be named later or cash considerations. Under the radar move. He’s been pitching well this season, and Oakland has a good pitcher-friendly park conducive to his fly ball tendencies.

They are playing superior Baseball to the Astros at this point. Look at how many games they have gained in the last month and a half. The Astros should be the one desperate for a Bat to emerge out of the all AAA players that have been brought up to replace all the Players on DL. If anything the Astros really need to find a way for the Offense to emerge because Oakland shows no sign of slowing down.

Well, Luhnow sat on his ass and failed to get a bat and most people thought he was right.

I have been calling for a Bat for over a month. I am not convinced that Springer is going to be what he was last year. He has regressed and I get Poo Poo for saying it. Gattis has a few games where he is on Fire then disappears for a couple weeks. Marwin is totally in regression.

We need to take the A's seriously. Fiers has the ability to step up and deliver. They have a much easier schedule than we do. Unless they experience some major regression it is going to be a chase.
