I like Murphy to me he would be the choice of all the OF who will become available.
If one of those teams who thinks they will sign him or meant him but scared they will lose Harper they should do it know and hope he likes it there and try and convince him.
But for me Murphy in LF and can cover all thos positions in the field that's what draws you to him
Plus his proven bat in the playoffs

It’s been several years. Also, keep in mind he’s had microfracture knee surgery. He’d be a great bat, nonetheless. |

Would you try and add Jake or Will to a trade for Murphy? Not 1 for 1 but as a piece What about Will Harris and Jake Marsanik plus a below top 20 prospect for Daniel Murphy?  That opens 2 spots on the roster and welcomes Altuve back just gotta wait for Devo and McCann It's just an idea not a fact trade |

I think the Nationals are out of it.
That Gm and Owner have to start thinking ahead and stop the false hope.
Move what you can save what you want for long term. Harper wont be back and Murphy wont either. Those two young OFers have them set for a long time. So why pay Harper? They could easily pay for what they need.. Pitching. Cant count on Strousberg anymore. So find you some pitchers.
So I wonder if the Astros could trade Jake Marsinik and a Prospect for Daniel Murphy?
Put Will Harris on revocable waivers and get atleast a single A arm.
And go from there.
I kind think Murphy is all we need unless a SP of significance goes on waivers doubtful.

With our precarious OF situation (I think Springer is playing with pain also), I hope we're looking at OF pick-ups. Heck, even getting somebody like Maybin back would be good.

Murphy LF. Springer CF. Reddick RF
Kemp 4 with Tucker 5 in sept.
That's better than any Jake lineup

You guys keep talking about Murphy and I keep remembering Dale Murphy.
If there were a player like Dale available ('83 version) and the Astros could grab him, that would level the playing field with Boston real quick.
