He's only had a handful of starts. Good Lord... For real though. These are the same posters who would have sent Bregman packing when he first came up and struggled for a couple of weeks. I know. I was one who said put him back in the 2 hole to figure it out. Bregman was getting solid contact and barely striking out during that brutal stretch to start his career. It was only a matter of time

Tucker needs to get going or he may go back to Fresno. He's only had a handful of starts. Good Lord... I said he needs to hit better. I know about giving him time.

I’m encouraged by the fact that Tucker isn’t whiffing a lot. He had the jitters in his first game and struck out 3 times. Since that game, he has struck out just 2 times in 19 ABs. He will come around.

Solid effort from our boys. A shutout is a great job no matter the opponent.

For some reason I'm sensing that McCann may be out longer than they are letting on. I think he's done. He may come back as a pinch hitter in September and playoffs but he won't be back next season with the team option We don't him to pinch hit. Most of what he would do is pull ground balls into the shift they use against him. If he can't catch, we don't need him.

Tucker needs to get going or he may go back to Fresno. If they are going to keep wasting a roster spot with Tyler White, Tucker should have a long leash........AJ said Marisnick has been optioned back to Fresno so they can activate Cole to pitch tomorrow. I had rather have Jake and his defense than the useless White who is mostly good for nothing.

Solid effort by our pitchers. keuchel had this third good start in a row, but, to keep things in perspective he has had them against the Rangers, White Sox, and Tigers.....all three bottom feeders.

Three runs off Fiers is disgraceful. They blew several chances to add runs. Worst example of blowing a chance came after Fiers left the game.......Altuve and Yuli lead off the inning with singles putting runners on first and third with no outs. Reddick used poor judgment by trying to bunt instead of driving in the run from third and popped out. Hinch then lets Marwin hit away with a 3-0 count and he lines out to first base. It would have made sense for Marwin to have tried a safety squeeze. Then, Tucker stood there and took a third called strike. Tucker needs to relax. He looks very tight at the plate.

Qakland trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th with SF still batting. A’s had bases loaded and no outs in the top of the 7th and didn’t score. Doesn’t sound like the team that just left Houston in their dust.

For some reason I'm sensing that McCann may be out longer than they are letting on. There's no need to rush his .180 bat and poor CS% back into the lineup.

one thing about Sipp this year is his strong L/R splits. Lefties are only hitting .108 against him this year whereas righties are hitting .263. If he makes it onto the postseason roster, I would expect him to be used almost exclusively against lefties.

by OPS, the Astros were MLB's second-best offensive team in the month of June (Dodgers being #1).
In this young month of July, the Astros are hitting 13th out of the 30 teams.
Marisnick, Tucker, Gonzalez, Springer, and Fedo all have OPS's under .600 for July. That's an awful lot of guys to be slumping all at once. Collectively, they are 24 for 135 this month.
