Verlander on the mound. He needs to reach 10 before Keuchel!

Tropeano starts for the Angels.
Since the last 5 times I've said we can't lose, let me try something different.
WE CAN'T WIN! WE'RE OVERMATCHED!

Reading an article on trade rumors...from CBS Sports....I’m not sure Britton would be an upgrade over the 2018 version of Tony Sipp. Plus they say Britton has had control issues. I’d pass on him.

If that is the issue, yes he needs to be acquired....but don't trust Sipp, even though he is in a contract year....

I’m kind of worried about this trade for a rental like Britton. Is no one else worried about the Achilles? Abreu almost seems like a better trade even though that necessarily might not be the case.
Also, the more I read about Correa, the more I wonder if Machado should’ve been a target. A month of “we don’t know” doesn’t seem very promising. How long can they put up with lazy Marwin at SS? Maybe this is the impetus for adding Abreu.
Also, everyone’s favorite reliever Brad Hand made his debut for the Indians last night and, along with Cody Allen, got blasted for a home run by Joey Gallo.

We definitely need bullpen help, but I have no interest in acquiring Britton anymore. He has injury issues and dealing with the Orioles is a pain. The Orioles would most definitely require Whitley or Tucker in the trade and I'm not sure Britton is worth one of them anymore.

There’s no way either will go east for a rental coming off a busted Achilles.

I hope Luhbnow doesn't bring in a couple of duds like Liriano and Cliapard and call them bullpen help.....He is going to have to deal a top 10 prosoect to get anyone who can help now. Tucker and Whitley should be untouchable....the rest are negotiable

Looking at the AL standings, the five playoff teams are about decided pending what happens with Oakland. Boston will probably win the east. The Yanks as wildcard.
Cleveland wins the central. If the Astros can go on a run, the division may be locked up. Assuming Seattle wins the 2nd wildcard, they will face the Yanks.
I think Boston would beat the wildcard team. Houston would face Cleveland and I think they get by them.
Leaves Houston and Boston playing for the AL championship. It won’t be easy beating the Red Sox.

Not with the Offense as it stands now. I think Pitching wise they can stand toe to toe. The Astros need to address the offense in a couple areas to have it become more consistent.
If and when Springer ever gets his confidence back and starts hitting consistently when he comes to bat with men on base then that will help a lot. What I fear is that he goes into another of these month-long slumps at the end of the year.
Since it is a mystery what is wrong with Correa will the really be able to count on him through the playoffs or will this mysterious ailment flare back up at the end of the year if he comes anytime soon that is.

We will never know the real story about Correa. The longer he stays out, the more suspicious this becomes. For that reason, we need to go get an infielder

Suspicious of what, exactly? What do you suspect?

Suspicious of what, exactly? What do you suspect? Could be lots of things,.......more serious back problem than they are telling us or they don't want us to know the reason for the back injury. As tight-lipped as they have been, there has to be more going on here than "back stiffness". "Stiffness may have caused the back problem and created others, too. We will never know the facts. All we know is that Correa is not on the field doing his job. Best way to end speculation is to tell the truth, which I doubt if they are doing.

And that’s all we need to know. Why do you need to speculate on some ominous cause of his injury? You obviously have some theory...what is it? Quit beating around the bush and tell us what is so suspicious about a guy with a back injury.

Quit beating around the bush and tell us what is so suspicious about a guy with a back injury. Back injuries can be created by any number of things....some are more serious than others. In the beginning, it sounded as if Corea should only be out about 10 days.......then, they say he isn't ready to resume baseball activities...... now, nobody seems to know or to say exactly what the problem is or when he could be expected to get a rehab assignment. All we know is he is "getting treatment", whicn could mean most anything, and we have seen video of him taking ground balls. I haven't heard anything about him swinging a bat. Seems to be too much secrecy involved for it to be just some back stiffness. I wouldn't say I have a definite theory, but, I don't think it is just some back stiffness. What we need is to be given some sort of time table as to when he is expected back. My guess is that his hoochy mama is involved in some way.

"What we need is to be given some sort of timetable as to when he is expected back."
This part I agree with coach8.
Seeing as Correa is an integral part of the offense stated by most of you on here on more than one occasion since he has been out. I do think Managment has a responsibility to the fan base at least give a Real Timetable on Correa expected Rehab and return to the team.
If Correa is going to be out for much longer extended time then they could at least say they are looking to address that issue too.
I have no theories why he is out and could really care less about the Why unless it's Life Threatening. Then only because it would be more about His Life more than about his place on the team and what he brought.

The only reason for them to be tight-lipped is if they thought they needed a replacement but didn't want teams to know how bad.
Otherwise it's just because the pain is lingering and they don't have any further info right now.

Anybody following the Yankee game at all. Chapman has walked three and a single in the ninth. Still, no outs and bases loaded. Now all they need is a couple hits and the Yankee's will be trailing. We know how this stuff goes it's only pipe dream it will happen that way. Now a Hit by Pitch and another run has scored. Now the Mets are trailing by two. Rooting for the Mets right now.

Second how much pain to the point of not being able to move.

Yankee's get out of it and win 7-6 DH grounds into DP.
