And this guy can't get a date?...amazing... I'm sure Marshall would have no problem getting a date, assuming he were single and free to do so. The man speaks a lot of sense and there are many fine women in the USA and around the world who can see that. Something that the members here probably should pay attention to is the legal debate about the extent to which private companies hosting internet forums (such as Proboards) can limit free speech. In reality, this issue is not as cut-and-dry as Bortaz has asserted it is when he said, in effect, that private companies can do what they want and that they have no obligation to allow all types of free speech (which might include conservative speech, anti-abortion speech, speech about the history of various religions...). There is a growing legal argument that certain internet giants, especially Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Google, are so large and competition against them so near-to-impossible that they effectively constitute an "internet commons". In other words, practically speaking, you can't get on the internet and go about normal daily business without having to deal with those giant companies in some way. The argument goes, since the public can't help but step on the turf of Facebook, Twitter, etc. while going from here to there on the internet, those sites do in fact have to allow free speech as defined on constitutional law -- not as those corporations' boards of directors may wish to define it. Now Proboards is probably too small to get included in that argument, but if legislation comes down affecting the giant corporations like FB/Twitter, it might be written in a way that affects Proboards too. The general policy of the Trump Administration is to curtail the way in which far-left, global socialist interests have weaponized social media for the purpose of ending American sovereignty and destroying the culture that made the USA great. The "internet commons" argument is one that you can expect to see used more often in the court system as Trump's first term continues. Did you see the hit that Facebook stock took the other day? it was down over 20% overnight if I recall. All in response to the far left having their weaponized, PC social media toys taken away.

Marshall is bonkers. i basically agree with Marshall on Islam, but, i also understand that we have to go by Proboard rules whether we agree with them or not.

If anyone here actually believes you're going to find a board where you can say anything you want and be able to get away with it, then you're outright stupid. Sure, they may exist, but you'e going to need to travel down the dark roads of the internet, a place a majority of the population doesn't even know about, nor want to mess with.
Free speech only protects you from the government punishing you from speaking your mind, not a private company.
Best rule of thumb for some of you so called adults, don't be a dick, and don't be a snowflake about this situation.

Most of the folks on this board are politically conservative. We understand that the media has been "weaponized" in an unfair attempt to sway opinion in a manner that goes against the traditional function of news media. Personally, I am pro-life and see the influx of Muslims into the country as nothing less than a long-term invasion. One need only to look at the mess in Europe to see what kind of trouble awaits us. We've also seen the attempted agitation of minorities whipped up by the same media. There is a not-so-well disguised attempt afoot to change the entire culture, and not for the better. I get it. The issue here, as I see it, is that free speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. The board is owned by Proboards and they have ultimate say over the content. Yes, they're renting space to us, but they own the space. Respect for private property rights is paramount for free speech to exist. If there is no private property, where are you going to practice the speech? Therefore because we believe in free speech we are bound to respect their rules. Put another way, if you rented a house to someone and later discovered that they had placed pro- abortion and anti-American signs in the yard, what would you do? I'm not sure how the Trump administration can restrict what the news media says without fundamentally changing the rules for everyone. I'm not willing to restrict my speech by passing legislation that restricts theirs.

A psychopathic board member that pretended to be a lot of things, and was an asshole to several posters who would disagree with him. He had issues. You and I are assholes too, but not at his level and we're not crazy.

I don't remember 100%, but PoP I don't think ever actually said he was Tom Petty. That started from others who were trying to figure out his identity through his words. The entire thing started when one poster (I think his name was Eric) made a joke to him, and to clarify it was a joke, Eric said "jk". PoP's actual initials were J.K., and PoP being the moron he was, thought Eric knew who he was, thus began playing the game of Guess Who. It was either Eric, or some other poster who began making guesses and the guess eventually landed on Tom Petty and it snowballed from there.
The entire thing was a mess, all because one person made a joke and then said, "jk" (just kidding).

I can't remember the Chic name to actually said she knew him and didn't clarify that he wasn't Tom P. I actually thought she was confirming it. Then they were going to have this big meet up at a Concert or something along those lines and then the Big Blow Up started after that.

Seeing as I really was mostly a lurker, hence my low post count even though I was there early on. I never knew Marshal now that I have seen him post here, I could see it being Marshall under a different sign on.

Speaking of that, this might be a good time to remind everyone of my Refugees email address, in case something happens. I don’t have the energy to try to find everyone again like I did with this forum. If we get separated, email me at:
