This offense needs help. Actual “tired of it” mode starts now. Springer has been sputtering off and on for months, Altuve’s power is missing, Correa is a question mark, Gattis is back to being the usual Gattis, Reddick can’t get last year’s magic going, Marwin’s brain is on vacation, and we have minor leaguers at catcher. Bregman can’t do it all himself. That is way too many hitters slumping concurrently for my taste. I almost wish Abreu was available at this point. This team is 30 over .500, but that is largely due to laying waste to average or bad teams. They’re past the point of “let’s see if they can get it together”. They need the help now. Over the last 30 days, only 6 players have hit above the league average. 7 have hit below the league average: Bregman 224 wRC+ Marisnick 193 White 143 Kemp 141 Reddick 106 Altuve 105 Yuli 94 Gattis 89 Stassi 75 Springer 72 Marwin 68 Fedo 50 Tucker 32 wRC+ of 100 is league average. If the Astros want to play like a playoff team, then out of 13 players, at least 8 should be hitting above the league average. Two moves that can be made now without giving up prospects are: 1) Have White replace Gattis as DH 2) Have Stubbs replace Fedo. As a general rule, Stubbs bats against RHP and Stassi against LHP.

Wasn’t there some article stating that Gurriel was tops in the majors at digouts at 1B? Thanks. Now Bortaz is gonna say I have a problem with Yuli at 1BWhat's your problem with Yuli at 1sr base, son? Racism?

Astros keep squirreling away games like this and Oakland will catch them. They're 12-7 this month. Your expectations are rough.

Dang Bregs was pi**ed. Just watched the interview. I’m surprised he was seething so much after the loss. That shows you the frustrations on offense. I’m certain that the A’s right now wouldn’t be as affected, and they’re in third place.

Eh, we won one and lost one to a good team on their turf. We had no luck at all and there were some questionable calls. We're 5 games up. I think people are making a bigger deal over yesterday's game than it's worth.
I'm more concerned about losing Altuve even if he was in a slump.

Losing two of our four top players would be a bad bad thing with an Oakland team riding high. I hope you're right though. I'd be less concerned if Correa was back.

That's why like you said, there should be cause for concern

They expect every player to bat .500 with 3 HR a game, and they expect to win 162 games a year. They're constantly on here talking about shitty lineups, need for dumping half the team, etc, in a season where the team has a .644 Winning %

There are dozens of posts a week criticizing him. Some are unfair and some are more concerns than complaints. At the end of the day, when healthy he's our best player. A game without him puts us at a disadvantage. I don't expect him to play every game, but it would be rough to lose him for more than a few.

The other things to criticize are his low steal attempts and reduced XBH.

we have a tougher road to the playoffs than the As and right now they are playing better ball than we are. our lead will continue to shrink until we get Correa back and some of our guy come around. I fully expect both things to happen as well as the A s to cool off.
