Are you alluding to the decision to have Yuli at 2B? Everyone bitching about Davis starting over White 5 hours ago. Cause LHP. Yuli can't play defense no matter where you put him. It pisses me off at the moment he'll be on the team next season and Gattis won'tWe don't know that both of them won't be on the team next year. The next couple of months should tell whether they re-sign Gattis.

15 hits two days in a row, next thing you know dogs will be sleeping with cats, rain will fall up, and Coach will compliment White. Hinch had been griping about pitch selection since the ASB in one interview. Hopefully there was a clinic on that this weekif there was it was a good one.

How ‘bout we send Devo AND Harris down? Ihey have to option one of them. Do both have options left? Neither is pitching well right now, but, I think Devenski is the better pitcher when right. I wouldn't care if both got sent down. Of course, they could always use a trip to the DL

The sabermetricians like Harris too. He is a Top 30 reliever by FIP. Luhnow will keep him around given that the sabermetrics say Harris is due for a turnaround and he doesn't create obvious scandal or drama off the field. The other thing one has to remember is AJ carved out a special role for Harris in the World Series last October. He was the go-to guy mid-inning with men on base. And since he didn't suck it's tough to imagine him not being on the playoff roster with his whole track record being AJs boy. Harris and Springer are similar that way

Right now, I wouldn't depend on Harris or Devenski unless we had at least a 5 run lead. I wonder how many games Harris has to cough up before Hinch figures out he is not dependable,

Problem for the disciples of sabr is that none of those impressive sounding stats that they like to spew none stop is used to decide who wins the championship. Just the W stat.

Astros have an option on Harris for 2019. I hope they don't exercise it,but, I think they will. I don’t think they will coach. Too many arms on the farm that should be ML ready next year. Why pay Harris $5.5 million when we’ve got a guy we can replace him with at the league minimum of just over $.5 million?

Problem for the disciples of sabr is that none of those impressive sounding stats that they like to spew none stop is used to decide who wins the championship. Just the W stat. I'm not a disciple of FIP or any other particular statistic myself. I'm just trying to imagine what Luhnow's decision-making process would be on this issue of who to boot from the bullpen when Osuna joins the active roster. Luhnow tends to 'trust the numbers' and the numbers say Harris should maintain about a 2.50 ERA through the rest of the year. If Harris were a loudmouth, or made embarrassing tweets, or fought with teammates in the locker room, Luhnow might have reason to overrule what the stat sheet says. But to all outward appearances, Harris just minds his own business. Devo had a BAA of over .500 for the month of July, so clearly something is wrong there and it goes beyond bad luck. Best to give him a DL stint if he needs it, followed by a few AAA appearances to make sure his body's right.

Not sure he’ll be back. Didn’t realize he was that old.

Me, too But,now the Bluejays have announced that Giles is their closer. They play 4 in Seattle this weekend. I hope Giles does OK and doesn't have to punch himself in the face.
