Definitely not Cora. He was given an all-star team.... At this point, it should be between Melvin and Hinch, Melvin due to the big surge the A's have made or Hinch if the Astros win the division in spite of the injuries. If the A's make the playoffs, I think Melvin will get it.

Biggest at bat in this game was Peacock striking out Canha with the bases loaded to end the 6th. Five big home runs.....first by Gurriel got us going and then he looked horrible after that, still waiting on Correa to hit with some power. Maldonado was outstanding with the bat and in handling our pitchers today.

Hinch should have won last season. Definitely. I am not sure why the manager of the WS champion didn't win, but, I think the voting was done prior to the WS

Well we get out of Oakland still in first and we were able to leave them in some doubt about what could happen when the mvp comes back.

If not for that flawed reversal on the replay, we would have won game one there is an old saying about whether someone would be happier being lucky or good. Well Oakland is lucky and they are good. Luck does seem to have a way of running out and Oakland is really not that good. They are playing inspired ball though and sometimes that is more important than being lucky or good.

My My Brother In Law who knows a whole more about baseball than I will ever. Has one of the Best Collection Baseball Memorbilla that has to be Monitored 24/7. We were talking at a birthday dinner tonight and he said he doesn't think either Oakland or Seattle is as good as the Astros even with the offense having Historic Meltdown. He still feels the Astros will win the division and Oakland will be the WC. By the Way, he is a Lifelong Yankee Fan. He doesn't think anybody is going to beat Boston this year for the WS.

i agree with your brother. Astros will win the division and Oakland will play the Yankees in the wild card game.

I am trying to remember when was the last game when the Astros offense bailed out one of their starters who had a bad outing. Must have been a while back.

our starters have been so good all year that the opportunities for bailing them out of a bad start has not come along very often. Our starters need to hang in there a while longer. Our hitters will come around again. They will never be as good as last year but they will not have to be. They just have to be a lot better than they have been recently.

An Astro three-peat wouldn't excite you though. You'd be complaining about something the next morning (Rolls eyes.) You know it’s true. You just have to complain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe the team is worn out from playing till November 1st last year. These are young men between the ages of 20 and mid-30’s who had been playing a kids game for 8 1/2 months...not fighting insurgents in the middle east. They had 3 1/2 months off R&R...from early November til mid-February...before they had to report for ST. I don’t buy the post-WS fatigue excuse for any team.

getting complacent maybe, getting over confident maybe, being fat dumb and happy maybe, being tired, nope. In the shape these guys are in and as young as they are they can go for days without sleep, so only getting 3 months off to rest and work out. I do not think so.

Verlander throws Davis the same pitch he hit for a home run the first time and Davis hits another..two pitches, two home runs.........why the hell not pitch around him with two outs and first base open.......dumb pitch from Verlander and our lead is gone. Our pitchers are great at this crap. You missed the perfect opportunity to call Verlander a dumbass *****
