Well, we really needed at least two wins, but leaving Oakland in first is a decent consolation prize. Hopefully we can gain a couple games in Seattle and against the Angels. Better to lose the first two and win than win the first one and lose the next two.

An Astro three-peat wouldn't excite you though. You'd be complaining about something the next morning (Rolls eyes.) There was a time when Harris and Gregerson were pretty effective for us. It's good the middle relief has been retooled toward those days

I think Verlander would make the best starter-converted-closer. He's more like Smoltz and Eckersley than the other guys are

I based my assessment of Morton on his high velocity, good secondary pitches, and that 5th-inning wall he tended to hit.
