Rondon is tossing himself off the playoff roster.

I still think Josh James would have blown Vogelbach away
He's a weapon who is perfect for a situation like that.

As a manager in late innings, Hinch really makes a lot of bad choices that have cost the Astros several games this year.

Pressly needs to be used later in games. I don’t know why Hinch jerks him around in his role.

Rondon is tossing himself off the playoff roster. He needs to have to work his way on it......he has been crap in his last several games. No reason to pull Pressley and bring him into the game.........Now, it's over. Thanks, AJ.

So now that we're down by 3 Hinch will finally put Kemp and White in the game...

Thanks a lot, Rondon. The only two outs you got were great catches by Jake. AJ why the hell did you pull Pressley......Rondon has been horse shit this entire month. Clipboard requires a 7th inning pitcher, a 8th inning pitcher and a 9th inning pitcher. - AJ

A career .198 hitter slams Rondon.

Hinch should’ve pulled Rondón after the second diving catch and definitely after the walk. Once again, he just sat on his hands during an implosion. Get the playoff berth overwith and then screw around with reliever situations.

A career .198 hitter slams Rondon. Now Rondon can commiserate with the pitchers who gave up grand slams to Jason Castro.

3 hits in 8 innings against a team playing dumpter baseball of late. And one of those hits self-erased by the hitter (Maldonado).

I like how once again this team is at home and lays goose eggs to a team they should be beating and now will have lost 4 straight at home to them. So much for protecting the Home turf. They never have been tough at home and allow teams to come in and dominate on their Home.

Hilarious.
Now Hinch goes with the hot hand in Peacock.

Astros bullpen has given up 7 runs in the last 4 innings. Six of them on 2 homers.

Bad decision SLOW HOOK He has done this all year and has burnt him more than awarded him. Think back to Yankee games etc.

Framber is learning the ropes as an Astros starter. You can throw 5 or 6 innings of shutout ball but don't dare think that means you will win the game.

Peacock has pitched well over the past couple weeks. Granted it only amounted to 3.2 IP since Sept. 1, but relief pitching is all about streakiness and who has the hot hand. His strikeout and groundball rates suggested his ERA over the short term should trend to around 1.00 and that's why I would have supported Peacock bailing out Rondon, if not starting the 8th inning.

Having said that I'm well aware that 2018 Peacock is nowhere near the level of 2017 Peacock.

In fairness, the offense lost the game. However, Hinch has to recognize this and treat the game as special. Win and you’re in the postseason. Sense of urgency, zero.

I know some people would say you should never put a minor league call-up like James into a bases loaded situation. But I wouldn't have minded it in that case (Vogelbach's AB) because if Hinch told James he would only need to record one out, I'm quite sure he would have aired it out and that probably would have meant hitting 102. Hardly anybody hits those kinds of pitches for HRs. Most likely Vogie would have whiffed on strike 3 or just been frozen at the plate.
Maybe James fails and gives up an RBI single (likelihood around 20% I would think).
More likely, James gets out of the jam and talk about a confidence booster.

It makes very little sense to give away games like this. You could smell the trouble brewing before Rondon threw a pitch.
