Damn it, Tucker. Quit allowing chances for Marisnick.

Just an idea (partially because I'm OCD), but would it be beneficial to have a thread for each team to discuss team specific updates?

At Quad Cities I would say Bukauskus, Parker Mushinski and Jonathan Arauz. At Buies Creek, Jorge Alcala, Brett Adcock, JJ Matijevic, Ronnie Dawson.

Garrett Stubbs was pulled for a pinch runner in the 8th inning. I can’t find anything to indicate that he was injured.

Justin Ferrell was promoted from A Advanced Buies Creek to AA Corpus Christi yesterday. Ferrell posted a 1.62 ERA in 16.2 IP at Buies Creek. He allowed just 6 hits and 4 walks and struck out 24.

also good to see Reed get some fire in his belly and after looking at what Davis is doing you have to wonder what on God's green earth is keeping him in Fresno.

One last thing, Olpapa did you notice what they did with Kemp and White last night. Puzzling but interesting, you have to wonder what they were doing.

Just a thought

I just saw what you are talking about and went back and checked the box score. Actually Tyler White started at 2B and moved to 3B..., not CF. My bad. White in CF would be puzzling alright.

A couple things I noticed about the Fresno batting order (1) Stubbs moved up to #3 and Tucker down to #8, (2) Jon Kemmer batting second and Ferguson batting 9th didn’t last long.

On rare occastions, Tyler White has started in LF but usually he is slotted in as an infielder.

McCann is great for the team, but the Astros have younger, cheaper talent that need more game time. If the younger, cheaper talent did not have the potential to be legit catchers, then I think the Astros and Brian would work something out, another two years maybe...

It doesn't look like he'll hit the PA total he needs to reach to have his option automatically vested. The club has a option for 2019 at $15 million. He needs 601 PAs this season for the option to become a player option. The most PAs he has had in a season in his career was 573 in 2008. We are right at 1/4 of the way through the season and he has 93. I don’t see 601 happening. I don’t see the Astros exercising the $15 million club option either.

If Stubbs is ready next season, they would make a good platoon. Both are very athletic as catchers go, are said to work well with the pitchers and do a good job at throwing out base runners attempting to steal. My only concern is whether Stubbs will hit in the big league.

He seems to love and respect the game....and he has a leg up being a catcher...

I wouldn’t mind at all having him as a coach in our organization. That said, I don’t think the Astros will pick up his $15 million option for next season.
