So 2019 for Straw? June or September? Really hoping Straw isn’t included in a trade. I hope so as well....and I only really knew of him because of your start posting....I really like the thought of a Straw type on the team...a guy who get on base at high clip, and then move himself into scoring position....a true leadoff hitter.....plus has a good arm in the OF, for defense....

I would think Reed has to be the first to go now...

If Straw is promoted to AAA this season and rakes there, and continues to do well at AAA early next season, I think he arrives in Houston in June 2019. Would really like to see Straw and Rojas both in AAA by mid-July this year.

A couple of years ago, most of us (me included) were all salivating over Reed's numbers..I just didn't know he had so much of a hole in his swing...A friend of mine pointed out he swings the same regardless of pitch, just down the middle....he doesn't adjust at all...like he swings at the invisible t-ball stand....of course it is an exaggeration, but after watching more ABs by Reed, it was not a blatant one....I was/still am hoping Reed could/can adjust his mechanics....

He sounds like the perfect 9 hole hitter on this team. Get him on base. Distract the pitcher who has to pitch to Springer who's always ready to swing at any first pitch in the zone. Turn those solo HRs into 2 run homers until Staw is ready for a typical leadoff role or they determine that we won't have a typical lead off man. When Springer hits a non homer, Straw can scoot around the bases.

So 2019 for Straw? June or September? Rojas also with a couple of hits. Tanielu promoted to take Kemps place in Fresno. Sean Stutzman, LH relief pitcher for Corpus, has allowed 6 HR in his last 5 appearances...just 4.1 IP...and 3 of those HRs were walkoff HRs blowing a lead for Corpus, including the one last night. That ain’t gonna gitter done.

I would think Reed has to be the first to go now... I’ll never let myself be fooled by portly slow home run hitting minor leaguers again.

What is wrong with Alvarez?

What is wrong with Alvarez? Alvarez and Rojas ran together going for a flyball in shallow LF in a game a while back. He was taken out of that game and I haven’t seen him back in the lineup since.

What is wrong with Alvarez? I just checked the Hooks’ game logs. Alvarez left the game on May 6th with a head injury. He has not returned. He was placed on the DL on May 16th and is sill on the DL.

Correction: It was Randy Cesar.., not Rojas.., who collided with Alvarez in the outfield during the game on May 6.
