That home run Joe West stole in the first inning was the game winner for Boston. Even with that, we had our chances. If Benintendi doesn't make that catch all three score and we win. Boston came back from a 3-1 to beat the Yankees one year so it is not impossible.

That last play proved the magic is gone.

Honestly, we still almost beat this team, even getting cheated 2 runs, squeezed by the umps, and is bad as they were playing.
I think the NL team will have a decent shot at beating them

Reddick has also done his part. He sure has..I forgot him. He's done it with the bat and the glove.

Can’t fault Bregman for that swing. It was going to be a hit the vast majority of the time.

One positive.........Cora burned his bullpen tonight. He is hurting for pitching tomorrow.....I think we go back to Boston and still have a shot.

Can’t fault Bregman for that swing. It was going to be a hit the vast majority of the time. In that situation, he is looking for the first good pitch to hit, He got it and nearly drove in the tying runs and possibly the winner....just inches away. The big blunder was that baserunning mistake by Kemp leading off the 7th

We never have seemed to have a sense of urgency when we needed it......if they don't have it now, there is a problem.

Ron Darling and all the mlb network crew say Joe West blew that call on Altuve's home run. Betts reached into the seats.........the fan did not reach over it. That piece of shit cost us two runs.

Teams that have come back in a series down 3-1 in LCS
1996 Atlanta Braves vs. St. Louis Cardinals 2003 Chicago Cubs vs. Florida Marlins 1985 Toronto Blue Jays vs. Kansas City Royals 1986 Boston Red Sox vs. California Angels 2004 Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees 2007 Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Red Sox
Been a long drought since the last (11 years)
Does this team have the heart to do it?

Baseball is sometimes a cruel sport. Inches matter, a few more inches farther on Altuve’s hit and West does not have a chance to screw up the call. A few more inches to the left and we win in the ninth on Bregman’s Hit. The home plate ump was calling balls on the Houston pitcher that he was giving to the Boston pitchers. All night long. I know it sounds like sour grapes but it was maddening to watch. But in the final analysis the Red Sox are making a lot of their own breaks. They are getting the right hit at the right time over and over again.
We should win today and send it back to Boston. Maybe their magic wears off and Altuve’s hit goes the extra 3” in Boston or maybe Bregman’s hit is 3” farther to left there. I sure hope so cuz I hate losing.

I don't think the Astros played poorly. They fought all the way through. In the end, their bullpen has stepped up way better than ours. It was going to be tough to beat Boston even without fluke plays like balls rolling along fence tops, or HRs being cancelled, etc.
They will have just as good a team next year. They can get back here.

Series isn't over yet, Astros have a great chance in winning today...but, looking ahead, I hope Luhnow would consider bringing Nelson Cruz here for a 1 year deal, with a 2nd year option....

We badly need a DH. White isn't gonna cut it, and neither is Gattis.

Luck has a way of evening up over time. We should win today with or without the luck evening out. When we get back to Boston our away bats need to come with us and Lady Luck needs to change dugouts.
