I'm still wondering why the RF ump didn't make the call..... he was closest.

Joe West is senile. He has no more business umpiring pro baseball than does Angel Hernandez.

They’ll need answers for C, LF, and DH. Cruz should solve the DH problem.. I doubt if they do anything about LF, especially if Marwin is re-signed. We have Tucker and Straw, too. I imagine this series has turned heads about Maldonado beinig re-signed. I would consider a one-year deal with incentives. We must concentrate on keeping Morton and Marwin........Say goodbye to Keuchel, Harris, and Gattis. Cruz, even at 38, numbers dominate Matt Adams numbers....Adams is the one that needs to take PEDS....Plus, Cruz is used to the AL pitching.

Cruz won't be cheap even if you're not concerned about another PED issue. Look at the deal Encarnacion got from Cleveland. Obviously Cruz is a little older than Edwin was at the time, but he's also a little better. Why would he settle for a 1-year deal when he can likely command a 2 or 3 year deal? He's going to want as much money as he can get as he closes out his career.

We will see....Astros are legit WS contenders, maybe he wants a ring discount...a 1 year deal, with a 2nd year deal...or 2 year deal with a buyout option or Cruz can opt out type of deal...

Speaking of gamers. How about Kemp? I was hoping for a bunt single. I won the wager but I was wrong about him not being a solid contributor. Just wish there was a real position for him. One thing Kemp has done this season is create some trade value for himself. Some team looking for a good, cheap answer at second base should be willing to give up something of value for him. I wish he had a better arm and could play SS. Then he could fill Marwin’s role next season.

Another burning question is whether Correa's back problems are a chronic condition. Hope the Astros get the best med help to fix this permanently

If Tony had an arm, he could be the starting LF.....at the very least, like you said, Marwin's replacement for super-utility guy.

Why do Astros fans always talk about players taking a discount to play in Houston, as if it's some great honor to play here?

My problem with Cruz is that another caught PED-using and he's out for the whole year, right? There are other options for DH, like Matt Adams off the top of my head. Matt Adams??? I think we can do better than him......Cruz is a much better choice.

Hopefully, no surgery will be required for either. A totally healthy Correa will be a big plus for us next season.

Why do Astros fans always talk about players taking a discount to play in Houston, as if it's some great honor to play here? Not exactly discounts, but incentives..... (1) Winning program, great management that has a LT approach to put a winner on the field (2) State has no income tax (3) Cost of living is less than other areas.

This quote from Betts confirms that it was not fan interference: "I was pretty positive that ball was going in my glove," Betts said. "But as I jumped and went over, reached my hand up, I felt like somebody was kind of pushing my glove out of the way or something." ...as he jumped “and went over.” He confirms that he went over the wall. No knowledgeable Astros fan should be upset with those fans who contested with Betts for the ball. They had every right to. He reached....”went over”.... the plane directly above the wall in an attempt to catch the ball at his own risk. Those fans did precisely what any good Astros fan should have done. Without reaching over the wall into the playing field side of the wall, they contested Betts’ attempt to catch the ball. They should be commended. The culprits are Joe West and the MLB review official who got the call wrong. Joe West is a fat old dumbass who forgot the rules of review so he improvised his way to that call.

Too bad the league office can't force that game to be replayed from this point.......Allowing Joe West to potentially take a win away from should not happen.

Brocklander did the same thing to us back in '86. Funny, how we have never had umps steal one for us.

Bad call but the Astros had 8 more innings to score and not blow leads.

I’m worried about Altuve. How much meniscus does he have left in his right knee? I don't think they're concerned about his knee. They invested too much money in him over the next several years. His play is admirable, but I can’t help but worry when he moves around like he was shot.

I think the season ends tonight. Just a feeling. I'm ok with it. Sure as shit going to be bored for the next few months. I'm about to start work on another grad degree (wth am I thinking?), though, so it's probably for the best...I won't need the distraction.

I just really have a feeling that this series is still going to go 7. Not sure if we would win that game 7 but I just have a feeling we take the next two.
