I'm not saying I disagree with you. But you would prefer Thor over Bumgarner? Bumgarner is a proven WS champ and clutch pitcher. Again, not saying I disagree but just curious why you would be against Bumgarner assuming we don't have to give up Tucker or Whitley. Can Bumgarner and Bregman coexist?

Tucker for Merrifield AND Perez? In a heartbeat. Trading Tucker for Merrifield and Perez would be awesome cause we could start Merrifield in LF. I don't think Moore would go for it thoughIt’s not as awesome as Realmuto and Pollock/Brantley, but it’s half the cost or even less.

Can Bumgarner and Bregman coexist? Do they have an issue I don't know about? Bregman is quite demonstrable, and Bumgarner is very anti-flashy.

Depending on the asking price, Bumgarner would fit nicely in the rotation between Verlander and Cole if he's healthy. Since we have been quiet except for getting Diaz from the Bluejays, I expect Luhnow to have something to announce pretty soon.

Straw over Jake all day Cant teach speed Next And you can't always teach anticipation, routing and focus. You're satisfied with getting to the ball and I want it caught and, if needed, returned to the infield. I really don't want a speed guy who can't field. I'm not saying that describes Straw. I just know that speed alone is not enough. He might be an amazing fielder, but all I've heard of is his speed and not his skills.

Seriously think about it can we resign MadBum Verlander and Cole? If you think we can then sure go ahead. But let's look at it like this 2019 Verlander Cole Madbum McHugh James Almost 50m 2020 Mcullers McHugh Peacock Whitley James Your gonna have to try and resign Verlander or Cole or MadBum 20m. 20m. 20m. Or would you rather Trade for Noah Verlander Cole Snydergaard McHugh James 2020 Resign Cole Cole Snydergaard McCullers James Whitley See what Verlander wants if its above 15m let him ride the lightening I'm for option 2 saves more money Could have a value based team on pitching and be able to resign key players on the field

In the minors Myles Straw was perfect fielding with 1.000 threw the minors according to minorleagues stats. No errors. I would be ok with that roll of the dice

Then you you can look at Yuli and Reddick both off the books in 2years that 20+ m saved so if you trade Wright let's say
Noah Snydergaard for Tucker (Yes it aucks but it's a nice SP) Paul Goldschmidt for Cional Perez, Corbin Martin and Tyler White Resign Paul but make his first year his highest to free money co executive years.
See how hard it would take to get J.T. Realmuto. I get it dont over pay but still it shoes up this postion for years. J.B. bukouskas, Yordan Alvarez as the headliners. Maybe Kemp, Davis and Framber Valdez
The money will be there if you play this market wright

If it's me I'm trying Framber Valdez and Tony Kemp instead of Kyle Tucker

As with anything, there are tradeoffs.

All I’ve got to say is they better have a plan to both re-sign Springer and add a bat like Brantley or Pollock now.

Derek Dietrich would be mine But I would go Pollock and still add Dietrich just as insurance

From looking at the numbers, I don't see much difference. I may agree with you on McCutchen because I think he would provide veteran leadership in the clubhouse and he is still productive. He made just under $15 million in 2018. He would be a nice fit for us.

I don't think any of them would provide better veteran leadership than what we already have. It's not like we're a super young team anymore.

Yeah nothing much on Harper, Corbin, and Machado yet either. Another slow-starting offseason.

Re:Keuchel
A lot of his prospective suitors have already made trades/signings to fill his supposed role.
