Since Framber can barely throw the ball over the plate, and rarely knows where it's going when it leaves his hand, I think you'd probably be well served finding someone else to offer as your centerpiece.

I love Marwin and all, but if they got him instead of Brantley or Pollock, I’d be a tad upset. I think I'd see about signing McCutchen before going after Brantley or Pollock That’s fine too. I guess I forgot about Cutch because of last season, but he’d be more than adequate in LF.

If they trade for a pitcher, it needs to be someone with multiple years of control. definitely

That's what I'm saying. On another note the proposed trade from the Padres is as follows LHP Joey Lucchesi C. Austin Hedges RHP Chris Paddack. 35th ranked in MLB For RHP Noah Syndergaard And C. Travis D'Arnaud So to compete with that Framber Valdez LHP Max Stassi. C Yordan Alvarez OF Those three for Syndergaard? In a heartbeat........do it

This from Jon Heyman:
“@jonheyman · Nov 26 mets have checked in on big free agent pitchers, including ja haap, which may show how serious they are about the Syndergaard talks. doesn't mean they will trade Noah of course, as they need mlb ready impact back at multiple spots. c, cf and 2b would be the areas of interest”
C,CF and 2B? Stassi, Marisnick and Kemp. Seems fair to me.

Not much of a demand for Jake in my opinion.....his main value is to the Astros....he's a great defensive replacement, baserunner, and fill-in when one needs rest. He is also well-liked and well-respected by his teammates.....that is important. I would much rather trade Fisher, Reed, or Davis than Jake. Nobody agrees, but, I'd rather have Jake than Kemp.

I'd rather have Jake than Kemp, but I think Straw has more potential as a 4th OFer than either of them. Higher potential OBP and the best speed. Not as strong defensively as Jake but better than Kemp.

I still say that if we sign one of the big three free agent outfielders look for a Tucker trade to fall in right behind that signing.

Imma ask this question
Would you as an Astro fan except this
Robinson Cano and they pay ten million per year till his contracts over and Haniger For Josh Reddick, Yuli Gurriel and Joe Smith with 2 low level Prospects? Cano becomes the DH/1B Haniger takes over for Reddick

I do not think so, I think that the Marlins will want more than we are willing to pay for two years of Realmuto control. My opinion is that Tucker will either get traded for Snydergaard or start in left field for us.

It would not surprise me if we sign Happ, trade for Perez, and sign either Cruz or Murray and call it good. That would be dangerous but would allow us to pitch the youngsters more to see what we have and then make a July trade for a front end starter.

My opinion is that Tucker will either get traded for Snydergaard or start in left field for us. If the Astros have no plans or just a relatively small chance of extending Verlander and Cole after this season, I don't think the Astros should be trading away key prospects this off season....because they will be going through a transition period.....They should target signing veteran catchers, LF/DH to 1 or 2 year deals ----- and as far as SP, either sign the next Charlie Morton to a 2 year deal, with a 3rd option....or trade for a relatively good SP, whose team is more about dumping salary than asking for key prospects in return.... Plainly, if the rotation stands to make a major change next year, then the Astros should not be trading away top prospects, they will be going through a transition period...of their younger pitchers (Whitley, James) taking the reins....

No one really knows what will happen with Verlander and Cole but there is a scenario that allows the Astros to really go after another title while they are still on the payroll. They do not have to have Realmuto to get there, they do however have to have a #3 starter that is better than Keuchel and the only guy that makes sense to me is Snydergaard. The only way to get him is to trade Tucker for him. I am a big fan of Tucker, I think he will be just as good as Springer and trading him will hurt. But if we trade him and get Snydergaard in return and then go on to win it all then it will be thought of as a great trade. We are in a unique place right now. If we do not go all out to win it again then there is absolutely no chance on getting Verlander or Cole back for 2020. If we do then there is a chance for both. Trading Tucker will hurt but all things considered it will be worth it in the long haul.

Not as strong defensively as Jake but better than Kemp. I agree. Kemp is a below average outfielder and they must not think much of him at second base or he would have been used there some when Altuve was injured. Instead, we saw Marwin and Yuli there. When AJ played Yuli at second it showed how much confidence they had in Kemp as a second baseman..NONE. I also agree that Straw has the most potentialk but, right now the key word is "potential". He hasn't proven he is a major league outfielder. With his speed, if he shows he is a good OF and have have a high OBP, he is very valuable. If somehow Straw could become our leadoff hitter, it would be fanstastic. That speed would get us a lot of extra runs.

Continuing to win.....especially getting back to the WS.....could really influence Verlander and Cole to re-sign. That is why it is necessary for Luhnow to do what is necessary to win in 2019. We needed to add a bat at the 2018 deadline and did nothing.......it cost us.

I think tucker going to Marlins The ONLY trade Tucker is likely to be included in is a deal for Realmuto and I can live with that. I disagree on several fronts, first with 60% of our starting rotation from last year gone getting a top flight #3 is our biggest need. Second we can get an acceptable catcher in free agency or by trade, there are several options. Third trading for a starter is consistent with Luhnow's history. Fourth when the trade for McCann was made Luhnow talked about his ability to handle our rotation and provide great leadership on the field. So getting a guy like Perez is far more likely in my mind than Realmuto. And finally getting a guy like Snydergaard gives us a guy who is a projectable #1 for three years and it will take three years for guys like Whitley, Martin, Perez, James et al to develop. Without someone like Snydergaard on the roster then 2020 will suck big time while we wait for the kids to grow up.

That's what would be an interesting feet. It's you do the deal to get Haniger then flip him off to another team and call it good
