I think some have to come to terms on will the Astros have Reddick, Kemp, Straw, Marisnick, Tucker, Springer and Brantley on the roster at the same time.
You gotta believe two of them are gone

Brantley has played 2/3’s of his games in LF. One-third in CF. Wonder where this leaves Kemp and Tucker? In San Francisco, when Luhnow trades them for MadBum. But MadBum is a FA after 2019. |

Ask ur self this. Before the Indians traded the salary off what where the talks? Kipnis or Edwin or Yonder with Kluber or Trevor for less value. So earlier on hotstove. They dont have to worry about money know so price for three years of runner up Cy Young contender 200ings 200so Startingnpitcher with three years of control for very very reasonable contract. You think in your minds you wont have to give up Whitley? THATS DELUSIONAL. I've seen some offers that the analysis are talking about three top prospects period. So Whitley Tucker and Alveraz I'll pass And Grienke. 100million over three years. You have two choices pay most of his money lesson your return. Or have Diamondbacks pay some of his money higher there return. But you guys wanna reign Verlander and Cole? How do you plan on this with that kinda money on board before your even out the gate? Plus injurys / Age? Come on guys watch lunhow talk on TV. If the price is Wright. If it doesn't hurt out future. Dont be blind. They wanna resign Cole for sure and Verlander. But you wont be able with Grienke on the books. What if the price is "write" or "right" instead of "wright"?? I was not suggesting we make a deal for either Kluber or Greinke. But, we don't know if one of those will happen. I think any deal involving Greinke involves the Dbacks eating a big chunk of his salary. You are so rite. |

He can hit, can he stay healthy is the question. You are right about that, good stick, only if he can stay off the DL. I’m hoping Tucker succeeds and Brantley spends the majority of his time DHing. Maybe he could avoid the DL if he does. |

Jake would look good roaming CF for the D’Backs as well. I am giving 5-1 odds that Jake is not on the opening day roster I think he's about the only one of the group who has an option left, so odds are good that he won't make the team out of ST. One can hope, anyway. |

BREAKING: Astros closing in on free-agent outfielder Michael Brantley..deal to be in two-year, $32M range. Last season Brantley hit .309 with 17 HRs and 76 RBIs. With having White and Gurriel, and now with Brantley, I think that closes the door on Cruz....unless Tucker is traded, which I think is highly unlikely and something I would not be for. Signing Brantley is a great move., but, I'd still go after Cruz. Use White as a trade piece to add a pitcher. |

That's everyone's question And according to another report not done. This offer was offered at the winter meeting in Vegas. He thought about it and took it Overall it was a good signing...I am surprised Brantley only took a two year deal, and I am hoping the third year option is a team option...If Luhnow pulled that off then this was an A+ signing. Agreed 100%. A third year team option would be dynamite. |

Cruz and Brantley, plus the addition of a better hitting catcher would be a huge offensive improvement over last year. But do you keep both Yuli and White... Yuli can play what positions: 1b, 2b, and 3rd? White can play: 1b and LF? Diaz is 2nd, SS, and 3B? Kemp is LF and 2b? Straw all OF positions Marisnick all OF positions. Seems like Kemp and Jake (monetary) are most expendable...followed by? White? |
