McCurry has had a few stretches of 4-6 weeks at AAA of being virtually unhittable. Then he will kind of fall to pieces for a while before he gets it back together.
He's an intriguing option for a middle reliever with the funky delivery and arm slot.

well McCurry was once looked at as a closer candidate... not really showing it tonight, but let's see how he does in a week once the rust is knocked off.

they say Rodgers' FB was hitting 91mph.
If the reports of 95mph last year were accurate, would be great to see him back at that velocity this spring.

I heard an unconfirmed report that mlb.tv is streaming all the ST games for free as a promotion to sell their $120 regular season packages.
Next games are at noon Houston time (split squad with one game vs Braves and another vs Mets).

All these guys must breathe a sigh of relief when they get their first hit of ST. Last thing they want is to start 0 for 15 and have people questioning whether they're ready.
The guys who stay relaxed but focused usually do well in ST.

Straw puts the ball on the ground, he will be a threat like Jose. that's the thing, he may well sustain a BABIP of .350 due to his ability to run out infield hits. having fast guys like that around will also reduce the team GIDP rate. |
