Let 'er rip, boys!
I read that the MLB prognosticators have predicted that the 2019 World Series will be: Hou vs. LAD. They pick Houston to win it all.

Imagine being a fan and your team loses in the WS 3 times in a row. I know it's cool that they made it there, but damn, that must suck.

There's a really good ESPN 30 for 30 on the hard-luck Bills and their devoted fansWasn’t it called “Four Falls over Buffalo” or something? I’m a 30 for 30 addict. My favorite was Pony Exce$$, the one about SMU’s fall from grace.

Maybe this is too anal for others, but could we lock the Offseason Chatter Thread until the next offseason so it's easier to not follow along two chatter threads? Not a big deal; just an idea.

I considered it, but figured someone would slice their wrists if I did it. I don't care either way.

I read where Gattis still hasn’t signed either. I sense a possible work stoppage coming up when the CBA expires.
I’m not 100% sold on the Astros pitching staff for 2019. May need another arm or 2.

And Tony Sipp had a great 2018 season and he signs with the Nationals for 1 year and $1.25 million😳. He’s worth more then that. His ERA + for 2018 was 218.

Obviously it won't happen because it never does, but imagine if each of our starting position players matched their best seasons:
Springer: 34 HR 85 RBI 116 Runs .283/.367/.522 .889 OPS (144 OPS+) Altuve: 24 HR 81 RBI 112 Runs .346/.410/.547 .957 OPS (164 OPS+) Bregman: 31 HR 103 RBI 105 Runs .286/.394/.532 .926 OPS (156 OPS+) Correa: 24 HR 84 RBI 82 Runs .315/.391/.550 .941 OPS (158 OPS+) Brantley: 20 HR 97 RBI 94 Runs .327/.385/.506 .890 OPS (148 OPS+) Gurriel: 18 HR 75 RBI 69 Runs .299/.332/.486 .817 OPS (124 OPS+) Reddick: 13 HR 82 RBI 77 Runs .314/.363/.484 .847 OPS (134 OPS+) Chirinos: 17 HR 38 RBI 46 Runs .255/.360/.506 .866 OPS (122 OPS+) White: 12 HR 42 RBI 27 Runs .276/.354/.533 .888 OPS (143 OPS+)
That's an average OPS+ of 143. Granted we'd be more than fortunate to see even half of those guys get close to those numbers, but the possibility is still fun.

I’m pretty happy for Sipp, but I’m also glad we don’t need to have that sinking feeling anymore like when he came out to pitch for us.

The guy we will miss is Morton I agree, if Morton is healthy/does not miss an extended period of time, Luhnow, and I am a big Luhnow supporter/fan, made a fecking huge blunder. I give mad respect to Morton, what he did in Game 7 was about the best thing I've ever seen for an Astro player.
