Does any team sign Keuchel before the MLB draft? Reason being, if a team waits to sign him afterwards, they will not have to give up draft pick compensation. It doesn't help that Keuchel will not take a 1 or 2 year deal. I think it was noted that Keuchel/Boras are steadfast at minimum at 5 years. Personally I call BS on that, no team is dumb enough to give him a 5+ deal.... The Darvish contract most likely is scaring a few teams to go that route. The only way Dallas gets near the years and money he is demanding will come down to a team that is hard pressed in their starting rotation and gives in.

Believe it or not, I did just that and saw nothing I could relate to baseball or a player. If it was a joke, then I missed it.

I actually think this struggling is a good thing for the team. I think a lot of them (and us) went into this season pretty cocky. Having to pull themselves out of this rut should be a little humbling (Bregman...) and will hopefully lead to some motivation. But there are some positives for the team that should be highlighted:
1. The pitching has actually been quite good even with Verlander struggling his last game. We're currently sitting at a Team ERA+ of 127 (27% better than the league average). Sure it hasn't been perfect, but the only runs the bullpen has given up has been by pitchers throwing multiple innings.
2. While we haven't been hitting well with RISP, we are doing a good job of getting guys on base, and we have several players that, believe it or not, are off to productive starts compared to the rest of the league. Chirinos, Correa, Bregman, Marisnick, Reddick, White, and Springer are all considered "above-average" right now based on OPS+. With Brantley, Altuve, and Gurriel just barely below. And all three of those guys have proven that they WILL hit.
3. Reddick, Springer, and Correa look great all-around. All of them look healthy and are playing at their 2017 levels. If they maintain close to that level of performance while the other three big guys get going, we'll be in excellent shape.
4. They're being aggressive and playing some small ball. Sure, it hasn't all worked out very well yet, but the idea is still good. Make stuff happen; be bold. I'd rather us end up with some extra caught stealings if it means we can groundout into less DPs over the course of the year.
5. We know this team has been streaky. We know Bregman starts slow. We know Altuve missed time in ST. This offense will get going and it will be good.

Tx DPS trooper shot and killed about 2 blocks from my home a few minutes ago. Neighborhood on lockdown while they search for the killers. Odds are great that the slayer is one of the Democrat party's chosen children...an illegal alien or gang/cartel member.

My weapon would be locked and loaded.

For S & G's I'd send Bora$$ a $17,900,000.02 offer.
