A bit of good news last night. The A's lost. 9 games back now. To give an idea of how daunting their task to pass us is...... If we simply finish the season with .500 play (fat chance) The A's would have finish the season at 35-14 to pass us. (Over .700 baseball- fat chance again) folks were panicking about the A's not too long agoNever sleep with your back to the tide... Or something like that. I don’t know sayings

It's crazy to see all these ballplayers I grew up watching son's playing in the MLB. Dante Bichette's son, Craig Biggio's son, Vlad Guerrero's son, sure I am missing more.

I actually enjoy watching the Blue Jays teams right now. That team is full of young guys that are ready to play, and that bomb by Bichette today was crazy!

I wonder whether they skip our No Hitter Starter in order to keep Verlander on schedule or at least not stretching it to 6 days rest? It's really a tough call. Skipping him sets us up for the A's with Verlander/Greinke/Cole/Sanchez.

I read an interesting article yesterday about the top tier teams and who will most likely end up with the best record in baseball this year and with home field throughout the playoffs. They had strength of schedules, current record, injury status, opponent status act. They were trying to calculate what kind of record it would take to get to the best record. The consensus of opinion was that the Astros would wind up best based upon their current record, (2 games ahead of last year's pace), their opponent's combined record, (.045 worse than the Dodgers), the additions of Grienke, Sanchez, and Maldonado, their injury history through the year and current relative health, the expected return of Pressley and Peacock and their expected boost to the already very good bullpen, and the emergence of Alvarez. Their projected record for the Astros was 106-56. The Dodgers were projected at 105-57, the Yankees at 103-59, and the Twins at 99-63.
They were split on who would win the World Series with 2 taking the Astros and 1 taking the Dodgers in what they were calling the Clash of the Titans.
Personally I think that they are selling us short. It would not surprise me if we won 110 games this year.

Everything I've read says they're keeping the rotation. Sanchez on Saturday, Verlander on Sunday

Because of the off days, he's still going to have 5 days rest and maintaining the 5 man rotatation pushes him to 6 days rest.

Nothing worse you can do to an OCD person than mess up their routine.

Unless I miscalculate, ,by skipping Sanchez, we should ve able to use Verlander, Greinke, and Cole in the Oakland series next weekend.

After adjusting for Sanchez staying in the rotation, the only difference between skipping him and not is whether he starts the first Oakland game or the last with Verlander, Greinke and Cole either following him or preceding him.
