The offense is due for an easy game. Miley got the clunker he was due for out of the way, so hopefully he can give us a good 6 innings tonight.

James could make a difference if he can continue to find his 100 mph heater with some semblance of control. it'd be nice, the bullpen does need someone to come in and start kicking some ass Man what did you guys do while I was gone. I go fishing and everything went to hell in a hand basket. 5 game losing streak, WTF. Seriously how did that happen. Did the guys just stop playing or what.

So Sanchez has supposedly been hurting since before the trade...

So Sanchez has supposedly been hurting since before the trade... Any good production from him would have been gravy, he's more of an offseason project.

Welcome to the team Toro. I don’t mind this move at all. Neither do I, if he truly can make the jump....but I think most here were thinking Tanielu was going to get the call... Does promoting Toro so early in his career indicate there maybe a changing in the guard in regards to Correa....Is the team realizing Carlos susceptibility to injury, and how much would it take to re-sign him before he is a FA. I'm not saying Correa being replaced this year or even next, but promoting Toro now possibly means they already want a contingency plan in place. Despite his enormous ability/ceiling and he being a great teammate, I just feel neither him or the Astros have long-term plans of being together

He's mostly been playing 3B, so I guess we'll be moving Bregs to shortstop and leaving Gurriel at 1B. At least until Diaz comes off the IL.

Bregman has looked good at SS...If Toro can make the transition and produce, what a huge lift for the team...Having a solid contingency plan for Carlos.....Then that helps with Straw becoming the 4th OF.....and Tucker taking over in RF....

Put Toro at third and play Bregman at SS...and send Mayfield down ASAP and get Tucker up here.

HELL NO you don't send down your best defensive OF and keep a guy with very little experience. I would keep Straw because he is versatile and can play IF or OF. Mavfield is not needed. Diaz should be back soon, too.

So do we know why Verlander hates this reporter so much that the team is now going to accrue some type of fine from the league?
As much as I like the guy as a player, here is another example of him being a little bit of a diva. (Unless the reporter made some kind of threats or insulted JV's family or something.)

I’m not following the story. Is Verlander required to talk to every reporter?

He is not required to talk to the reporter, but the Astros impeded his access to the locker room after the game until JV was done. That was at his request, but the Astros will absorb any fine or reprimand.

That was at his request, but the Astros will absorb any fine or reprimand. Here's a snippit from the news article about the event.... "As we noted, this was done in violation of agreements to which Major League Baseball, the Houston Astros and the Baseball Writers Association of America are parties. The agreements are meant to ensure full access to BBWAA-accredited reporters as long as they have not violated the terms of their credentials. In no case do the clubs — and certainly not the players — have the right to bar access to BBWAA-accredited reporters. Indeed, the whole point of the BBWAA is to ensure such access and to ensure that teams cannot bar them simply because they are unhappy with their coverage or what have you."

Best I can tell, the reporter has been critical of the Tigers front office on the rebuild, and Justin still has some love for those guys My guess is he expected Frenech wanted him to say something snarky about Detroit that had nothing to do with the ballgame
He also has a history of DUIs and sexual harrassment, and allegedly tried to out the source on a story that debunked one of his stories
