We’ve got a guy at Advanced A Fayetteville who is putting up some impressive numbers. He is Brett Conine, RHP out of Cal State Fullerton. He started the season at Full Season A Quad Cities and pitched 33 innings, allowed 19 hits, walked 6 and struck out 40. His ERA was 1.91 and his WHIP was 0.76.
He was promoted to Advanced A Fayetteville and has pitched 27.1 innings, allowed 22 hits, walked just 4 and struck out 42. His ERA at A+ is 1.65 and his WHIP is 0.95.
This guy hasn’t been one of the names we have been hearing a lot about, but he is looking pretty good right now. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him promoted to AA soon.

Tucker had a reasonably good night going 2-4 Altuve went 0-4 McCormick hit his first AAA home run.
Some guy named McHugh gave up a couple of runs and then the wheels came off the Wagon as some guy name Hunter Martin gave up 7 runs. Ugly finish last night in Round Rock.
Beer still sitting close to 300 though he seems to have hit a rough patch of late. He was 1-2 last night.

It’s time for Altuve to show something before he gets called back up.

Tucker went 3-5 last night with two home runs bringing his hr total to 23. He is now hitting to a line of .344/479/785- ops of 1.259 since May 1. Man those are approaching the Yordan line.

If Tucker can come up and hit like he is reported capable of hitting this lineup would just outscore everyone. That is.like having a team of all stars at that point.

Also last night Dawson continues to heat up like he always does after a slow start. Beer however continues to go flat with another 0-4 last night.
Nova has his average over 300 now.

I agree and when Tucker makes it all the way up and stays up then the whole narrative about the Astros only drafting well because of all the high draft picks will start to fade if guys like Whitley, Bukasukas, Beer, and others from those draft classes start to make a big league impact.

For the postseason sakes, I hope Luhnow fortifies both the rotation and pen...I am very happy lineup wise

OlPapa here checking in from Ketchikan, Alaska. Looks like you guys are holding the fort well. We are having a great cruise so far. Getting ready to go to breakfast and then disembark and check out the town. Thanks to all of you who gave me such good pre-cruise advice.

Tucker with another multi hit game and has his average up to 287 and his ops is over the Yordan line of 1.000 for the year. Martin had a good night and got the win and Altuve got a hit and drew a walk. Express with another win tonight.

In Corpus Christi Beer was not on tap tonight as he was out of the line up for the second straight day. The Hooks got sweep by a very weak Cardinal team in the week end series. Nothing else really worth mentioning here.

Tucker went 1-4 last night but stole two bases for 17 on the season. Time to bring him up so he can stand on 1st base while down 1 in the ninth.
Altuve stole nothing but did go 1-4 bringing his AAA average up to 190.
Ferguson got three hits and is now hitting 311 on the season.
Round Rock lost and nothing else there to really get excited about.

McHugh gave up the only run allowed by CC last night and is pitching to a 6+ era in AA. On the good side he did strikeout 2 guys in 1.1 innings of work.
There is a guy up from high A named DeLaCruz that seems to be figuring things out as he had three hits last night. He is 22 now and may be someone to keep an eye on.
Also Toro got three hits and has his average back up close to 300 and Beer had a hit and an rbi as CC won 7-1 to close out the first half at just under 500.

The way he hit last season, I thought he was a lock for 3rd in the order. This season, I’m not sure where he’s be best. I guess there is no better spot for him than 3rd.
