Forrest Whitley made his first appearance for the Astros Gulf Coast Rookie League team Friday.... 1.2 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 3 ER, 5 K. and now he is the old dude. Pretty lame.

Beer with another heady performance today at CC with a 3-5 effort and his 12th home run at AA. Hitting a home run every 12 at bats or so and this is not the PCL.

Good game for Enoli Paredes for Corpus tonight: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB 9 K.
Paredes and Christian Javier seem to be adjusting well to AA.
Good to see Nick Hernandez back in action. In 4 games since being promoted to AA he has pitched 6 innings in relief, allowed just 1 hit, no runs, no walks, and has struck out 6.

Another good outing by Bukauskus tonight: 6 IP, 7 H , 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 K But "some people" thinks he is nothing more than a pen arm or a throw in on a trade. Smh.

Beer with a 2B and a HR tonight. So Rojas had two more hits last night in RR. One was a home run. I guess you are right maybe time to start keeping an eye on that young man. Correa had another good game last night as well, he just be just about ready. Tucker played first but was 0-5 last night. His average is back down in the 260s so he needs to get hot again. Beer had another solid night getting another home run. Bukauskas had another good night last night striking out 9 in 6 innings. He seems to have righted his ship. Pena did not have a great night last night but he is still hitting 328 after jumping up a level this year. Sound like a promising SS to me. Nothing else looked worth mentioning to me about last night.

Does Kyle Tucker still exist? I haven’t heard anything about him recently.

In the past he has faded in the second half of the season, but so far shows no signs of fading this year. His numbers through 170 +/- ABs at AAA are actually a little better than his numbers for the same amount of playing at AA this year. .320ish BA at AA as well as AAA and OPS of 900+ at AA and 1.000 + at AAA.

Brandon Bielak had another good start for Round Rock tonight: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K. That’s 6 consecutive starts in which he has pitched at least 6 innings. He gave up 1 or no runs in 4 of those starts; 3 runs in 1 start and 4 runs in the other. If he keeps pitching like that he should get a call up in September.

Nice start and string of starts. Also, Tucker has 2 hits, a home run and 3 RBIs. Quietly having a nice season .271, 25 Hrs and 69 RBIs.

He is one of those guys that you try not to trade. Keeping him around for next year would be a smart thing to do.

Papa, any word on the catcher we got from the Mets in the JD Davis trade?

hitting about 220 with little power. He is not setting the world on fire. Now the catcher we drafted is looking like he has a nice idea about how to hit a baseball.

I hope Luhnow traded for his glove because he doesn’t seem to have much of a bat. Batting .216 at Low A for the season and .194 over his last 10 games.

Ditto.... This is Fayetville for heaven sakes. Anyone ever remember as high touted a prospect cratering this badly?

The sky is not falling. It takes a little time to knock the rust off.
