The sky is not falling. It takes a little time to knock the rust off. REspectully, nothing has been shiny this year. I understand, I am just a huge fan.

Ditto.... This is Fayetville for heaven sakes. Anyone ever remember as high touted a prospect cratering this badly? Mark Appel.

Two minor leaguers I’m most encouraged about right now are Josh Rojas at AAA and Jeremy Pena at Advanced A.

Two minor leaguers I’m most encouraged about right now are Josh Rojas at AAA and Jeremy Pena at Advanced A. A guy I work with went to watch a game Tuesday night. He was excited to see Tucker and Correa. He said the fans were on Tuckers butt for not running hard, he said Correa did not hustle either.

I wouldn't expect Correa to hustle there either. We don't need him getting hurt my n AAA. That would hurt his trade value.

My favorite prospect was Brady Aiken.
Aiken: They lowballed me! They said I was a Tommy John risk!
(Has Tommy John Surgery, never heard from again.)

No great hitting performances today but Emanuel, Ivey, Bukauskas, and Torres all had good nights chunking the rock.

Tucker went 0-5 last night. He is batting .156 (5-32) over his last 10 games. This is something I don’t like about Tucker. He seems to be a very streaky hitter. He is either red hot or ice cold. For example he batted .165 in April; .333 in May; .303 in June and is batting .196 in July.

Cristian Javier had another good outing for Corpus. 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 9 K

If he gets called up for us in the future, I’m not sure if he can handle the pressure.

He doesn't throw that hard and despite a good WHIP, he tends to have control/command issues (high walk rate) He walks a lot of batters (4.81 per 9 IP), but he doesn’t give up many hits and he strikes out a lot of batters. If he could solve his control issues, he could be a stud. I don’t know what we should do with him. If I could get Thor and Lugo by including him in a trade, I would do it in a heartbeat.

aBregmanfan mentioned that a friend of his attended a Round Rock game recently and reported that the fans were getting onto Tucker for not hustling. That brought to mind a article I read a couple years ago. It was on BA or Fangraphs I think. The writer was reporting on his observations of top prospects playing in the Arizona Fall League that year. That writer made a comment about Tucker not hustling or lacking enthusiasm. Now this report from aBreg’s friend. I don’t like the sound of that. That approach will not play well in Houston.

Maybe Luhnow's analytics need to include algorithm factors for desire and maturity. (see Whitley)

I cringe when I remember the trade value they had just 7 months ago. Cattle futures are more predictable than MLB prospects

I wonder if these two kids (Tucker and Whitley) know they're on the block, potentially, and don't want to be traded away from the WS caliber team to a junk pile...and aren't performing to their potential.

I don’t like how a kid who’s so efficient at stealing bases can lower his effort running out ground balls. That’s not a promising look.
