The only thing with Wally I don't remember him ever having and time being consistent. But he was given a long leash to try to prove himself. White won't get that luxury if Alvarez continues to impress. We may have to settle for him being with another ballclub if he turns out to be a major leaguer. Whether that's fair or notI agree with that, it depends on the patience of the front office. When White came back last season from AAA that is when he took off. But as mentioned it can't happen this year.

Altuve is better than Biggio, but they are similar in that aggressive approach to outside sliders.

If anything, they’re working the counts this inning. Now, stop striking out, Brantley!

Montas might have enough gas to pitch the 7th, but I don't think we will see him in the 8th. they're going to have to go to that tired old bullpen.

A question for papa, if White was DFA"d and not traded or claimed during the 10 day period, can he then stay in the organization and be sent back to AAA. I am not sure about the rule.

I'm amazed that Fangraphs and B-Ref haven't come up with a "Consistency Index" for hitters.
It would be pretty simple for them to write a computer program that tells you what percentage of months a hitter has exceeded some benchmark of 'good hitting' (say, .750 OPS or AVG above .260).
I dug into the Astros' monthly hitting stats at the end of last year and, just looking at each month of the 2017 and 2018 seasons, White was actually one of the team's most consistent hitters (I think he maintained OPS>.750 in about two-thirds of the months he was in MLB). By contrast, Gattis (the guy who was supposedly blocking White from getting more DH reps) only exceeded OPS .750 in about 40% of months.
If you didn't want to consider consistency based on months, you could look at batting performance per week, or you could break up a year's worth of PAs into chunks for 10 or 20 and count what percentage of chunks met or exceeded your benchmark.
The book on April 2019 hasn't yet been closed, so White may well exceed OPS .750 by April 30. He's not terribly far from that mark now.
The next game is against Drew Smyly (a lefty), so White ought to be in the starting lineup and he will have good statistical odds of doing some damage against Smyly.

How far the game has gone, to get into stats like this. Last season on the network they had a show on how the Dodger have a war room of geeks that their organization that lives and dies with them.

I can't complain when the SP goes 6 innings and only gives up 2 runs.
That might have been borderline performance in 1968 but these are different times.
