Surprising to see Montas yanked so early. The dude was putting on a clinic for Little Leaguers around the country.

They’ve got to make some noise on the bases. They can’t just live off homers.

Way to hold the lead, Keuchel. Dallas has a better beard. He needs to spend less time focusing on the beard and more on the contracts.

Even though Kemp struck out, I liked that aggressive baserunning by Reddick.

The way the A's are using their pen, it is going to start locking up an freezing by mid-August.
Maybe they get reinforcements at the trade deadline or through minor league call-ups, but they will have to consider the wear and tear those new players have already put on their arms this season.

it would appear we see Blake Treinen again tonight. he sure didn't have a good outing his last time against the Astros.

An XBH there would have put Trivino in a tough spot since he usually doesn't have to throw so many pitches. You could tell he was starting to tire there and that getting some base traffic would have pushed him past his limits.
Well, got to do it against Treinin in the 9th and see how well their pen holds up in extras.

The AStros' in-game BABIP this game is only about .150, so they are due to get some balls to find open grass this inning.
Montas has had this kind of luck all season so far, but it can't last forever.

No matter what happens, they’ve come a long way since 2-5. They haven’t really even hit their stride yet.

Excellent to put 7 pitches on Treinen's arm and get a runner on base with nobody out.
Treinen only has about 20 quality pitches before he sputters out.
