We need a nickname for out top 3 starters. How's the triplets??? wasn't that what they called Aikman, Smith & Irvin?Yes, Now I don't think the Texans fans are gonna nick name the Three Starters after the nick from the Cowboys.

Now that the trade deadline has past and it seems the Astros Won. Isn't it time to start a Thread for the New Acquisitions instead of extending a now defunct Thread.

Since I don't really follow any of the Minors I don't know how each of those guys were. Will wait for Olpapa evulation of Who we gave up and how good or bad it was. I feel we stole Greinke for what the Astros traded. Per the most recent MLB.com rankings Beer, Bukauskus and Martin were our #3, #4 and #5 prospects and Rojas just recently moved into our Top 30 at #18. Arizona got a good return. That said, I see Beer as strictly DH material at the ML level. We have Alvarez already. Beer was going to be blocked. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arizona flip him to an AL team before long. Bukauskus has a lot of potential, but has been very inconsistent this year. Martin is recovering from a TJS. I hate to lose Rojas. I think he has the potential to be a decent Marwin-type utility player at the ML level. We still have some good arms in the pipeline. Whitley looks like he may be getting himself straightened out. Glad we didn’t lose him. Cristian Javier at AA is going to be a stud, if he can cut down on his walks. Glad we didn’t lose him. Brandon Bielak at AAA has really been coming on strong recently. Glad we didn’t lose him. Then there’s Abreu, Urquidy, Paredes, Ivey, ..... We’re still ok on the farm.

I wonder what Yankees forms are saying right now Something like, “That dumbass Cashman sat on his hands and did nothing. Well at least he’s got his precious prospects!!”

Probably on Fire. The couple Yankee fans I have run into so far are not very Happy. To say the least. Maybe Cashman thought they couldn't win it this year with the Pitching Staff they have are really gearing for next year. Who knows what goes into the mind of a GM Cashman thinking. The Yankee's without making any deals actually took a couple steps backwards.

The likelihood of re-signing Cole is next to nothing, but if the unthinkable were to happen, Astros WS top contenders for 2 more years.

The likelihood of re-signing Cole is next to nothing, but if the unthinkable were to happen, Astros WS top contenders for 2 more years. It would be possible to structure Cole's deal so that it works. Basically part of Grienke's deal is deferred so we do not get the full impact of his deal. So not only do we get the money paid by Arizona part of his 20 and 21 deal is deferred so yes it can be done and still stay under the luxury tax. We might have to shed voodoo's boys though to really get it all put together. At least shed Reddick.

Kind of hard not to put the 4th ace in with Miley sporting a sub 3 era.

Kind of hard not to put the 4th ace in with Miley sporting a sub 3 era. Especially since Milwaukee's kicking themselves now for not signing him

I only regret JB right now just because we need pitching past this year (although not as much now). Beer could be a good hitter but we have plenty of those.

Biagini is the most interesting to me because he's such a wildcard. Could they turn him into another dominant reliever? We'll see.
