They're all worthless and need to be cut. ALL of them. Not ONE guy in that clubhouse would agree with you on Jake. Again, I don't GAS what the guys in the clubhouse think. They're not even smart enough to avoid breaking their rib by jerking off too hard.

We want a top end starter. We need a quality innings eater with multiple years of control. We need a guy who can pitch scoreless innings while he is eating them. Isn't that a contradiction of that term? Innings eaters are those (at least IMO) medicocre pitchers who typically give up 3 or 4 runs in 6 or 7 innings, and you just hope you can muster enough offense to win.

Regarding Oakland, I'm not going to worry about that team until they actually get their winning % above .600
Until then they are still mediocre

So let's see how badly we need another SP for the regular season: Assuming we continue to win games at the same rate we do now with Cole-Verlander-Miley (.683) we should win 26 more of their starts. Assuming we only win as many as games as Baltimore with our other 2 spots (.305) we should win 7 of those remaining starts. Those 33 total wins would put as at 94 for the season, not counting tonight's game. So potentially we're looking at a 95-67 if things remain the exactly the same. Do we think Oakland can win more than 95 games? They'd have to win 40 of their last 65 games for a .615 winning percentage. There are only 4 teams in the league currently over .600. So since this post, we won 5 in a row including both of the 4-5 spots in the rotation, and gained two games back from Oakland. If we hold true to the original winning percentages still, we would assume that we would only win 5 more of the 4-5 spots. Oakland now has to go 38-24 in their remaining 62 games in order to win 95 games (.613 winning percentage from here on out when right now they've been managing .570). We just have to go 31-30 to reach that mark. This is a big series right now.

This is a big series right now. Was thinking the same thing. This pretty much is their post season as far as they are concerned. IN the ALC they may be anywhere between 3 1/2 - 9 1/2 back of us, or could be anywhere from snatching WC 1 spot, to 2 back looking in.

Luhnow will not make the first move/trade...he probably is waiting for some of the competing suitors to make trades, so they will not be in competition when he makes his move. I am just hoping the one he has circled as the one to get is still available after the first couple of trades

Sitting on his ass won't get a deal done.

If nobody loads up then why even think about overspending.

So we've gone 9-2 since this thread was created and have increased our divisional lead to 8 games.

Even your debating self will agree I don't think their any worse than the Rays or Twins, honestly. Both of those teams are coming back down to Earth. The Yankees, yeah they're a higher level.

Soooooo, I guess Luhnow did something He dun it 4 sho. He had a great week.....he got rid of White's fat ass, an automatic out we had for a backup catcher, and a leg humper. Then, he adds future HOF pitcher to our rotation and keeps our top two prospects......he acquires two other pitchere who can help us and only gives up a blocked OF in Fisher to get them. Getting Maldonado as a backup for Chirinos is a plus for us.

If Greinke gets his salad tossed by NY in the postseason you'll start bitching about how Luhnow should never have let Morton go and that Greinke is a dumbass with psychiatric issues.
