I’m not on Osuna’s side or anything. I’m just saying you wished as a member of this team that Lugo didn’t get cut immediately whereas you complained the entire time about Osuna first becoming a member of this team. Can you not see a difference? No, the difference is more proof and/or more to the story. One had it and one didn't. Why would I want them to be the same? What evidence was released in either case?

I don't know all the details with Osuna now, but there was obviously enough smoke to warrant the suspension and him making a public apology.

Here was the line a month ago.
WAR. AB. HR. RBI. OPS BA
Vlad. 1.6 317 13 49 .803 .274 Yordan 1.9 154 14 43 1.119 .338
Updated.... WAR. AB. HR. RBI. OPS BA
Vlad. 2.2 399 15 60 .808 .276 Yordan 3.0 258 22 70 1.064 .314

But Yordan isn't a junior of a HOFer or getting the national media attention. How will that factor in the decision?

Yordan has played more or less half a season and has 22 home runs and 70 RBIs. Double that and you got a monster.

But Yordan isn't a junior of a HOFer or getting the national media attention. How will that factor in the decision? Precisely. That’s why I said on a different thread that if Yordan continues to put up for the rest of September the numbers he put up for the first week of September, they may give the ROY to Vlad Jr. IMO Yordan has to beat Vlad Jr clearly in every one of the stats that count. If it is close, I think they give the ROY to their media darling Vlad Jr.

It'll be the worst robbery of the award on memory.

I can't imagine he doesn't win it unless he just completely craters.

I can't imagine he doesn't win it unless he just completely craters. I can. Never underestimate the power of the East Coast narrative and the writer's reluctance to deviate from it.
It doesn't mean that Yordon shouldn't be the winner, but the writers don't always get it right.

I remember one year they didn’t give the MVP to Albert Belle simply because he was unlikable.

His defense is actually below-average though. Being a 2-way player shouldn't mean as much if you're not even average out there on the field.

I still think there is some bias, but it's not enough to hurt our team/players really. Besides, you have to earn popularity by being something people want to watch/follow. If they keep winning championships and awards, they'll earn more popularity.

I meant statwise. You can’t scoff at a rookie leading the league in runs, homers, and walks with an OPS of 1.049.
