The once nice thing about Fisher ending the inning is that the next one starts with the top of the lineup.

Astros need to knock Lopez out of the game in this inning. Renteria only has two innings worth of quality relief from the bullpen (Nate Jones, Bruce Rondon).

Fisher gets a pass for his game winning run in game #2 last year from Bregman. Those wheels have helped the Astros quite a bit and the alternative is Marisnick. I can't help but wonder if they are just buying time for Kyle Tucker to come up soon. The worse they do, the more likely he sees the show this year.
I would love nothing more than to have Tucker ready to help us produce in the playoffs.

I always thought he was better suited for the bullpen and even closer with his stuff (as 5 innings seems to be his max in games most of the time). Especially this year when we have 4 other starters than can go deep in a game. But honestly Peacock (although struggling a bit right now) and McHugh seem to be an okay alternative in the pen. In McCullers starts, I would like to see them go straight to McHugh or Peacock after 5 innings to get it to the 9th. |
