26 pitches for one out equals a risky bullpen. Braves Motto 1948 - “Spahn and Sain and pray for rain.” Astros Motto 2019 - “JV, Cole and Greinke and after them things get stanky.”

Oakland is the forerunner of sabermetrics yet sends runners. I wish we’d do that more often. Bregman has 15 SB potential, Brantley is a former 20-20 guy, Altuve has a lot of speed, etc.

Cristian Javier and Bryan Abreu should be thrown out there to see what they’ve got. We need reinforcements.

Two almost homers and a pop up. I wish they’d focus less on launch angles in today’s game.

Well, at least Urquidy had enough pride to show up and play after the mauling the team took yesterday. The rest look like they just want Oakland to leave them alone.

Remember your reinforcements, Hinch. It doesn’t always have to be the same guys on the mound.

Great start by Urquidy being wasted due to James looking like crap.

Teams right now are just going to brush off the solo shots. What the Astros need to do is prove some consistent hitting with men on base.

So far, all we know about Straw is that he can run. He looks over-matched at the plate. Jams had looked good since coming off the IL but he was horrible tonight. That and no hitting killed us.

Well tomorrow JV is the starter. Hopefully he can throw a shutout. He will need to throw a shutout. Homer Bailey... 4.87 ERA .., starting for Oakland.

Tucker hit .271 vs lefties and .263 vs righties at AAA this year. In 2018 he hit .307 vs lefties and .337 against righties. Seems to me that if a guy isn’t having a problem hitting lefties and you start sitting him against lefties, you could create a problem where there was none because the guy isn’t seeing lefty pitchers for long stretches. I have seen AJ do the same thing with Reddick. Sit him against lefties when he has been hitting lefties well. Sometimes you have to deviate from the no-lefties-vs-lefties thing.

I just don’t see why you’d call him up if you don’t want him to show if he can take the reins from Reddick. It’s not like we have a future Hall of Famer in right field.

We know what we have in Reddick......time to give Tucker a good look.

Reddick just started hitting again. Why would y'all want him to not get his reps in before the postseason? Tucker is getting some ABs still.

We need to know if Tucker is ready to replace Reddick in the lineup next season and he needs to play in order to know. We don't need to just bench Reddick but Tucker needs more AB's than he is getting.

We don't need to just bench Reddick but Tucker needs more AB's than he is getting. He's had ABs in 7 straight games including multiple ABs in 5 of them. He'll get a few more starts before the season is done, but I'm not surprised the veterans are in there against Oakland. Especially when Reddick is hitting .350 over the last week.

You make good points.,,.I just want to see more of Tucker at this point. We are finding out that all Straw can do at this level is run unless he turns it around. He should bunt more.

I hope we don’t face Oakland in the playoffs. unfortunately the 1-seed means we face Oakland or Tampa Bay in the 1st round, as opposed to Minnesota who lost a couple key guys recently
