We need to know if Tucker is ready to replace Reddick in the lineup next season and he needs to play in order to know. We don't need to just bench Reddick but Tucker needs more AB's than he is getting. He's had ABs in 7 straight games including multiple ABs in 5 of them. He'll get a few more starts before the season is done, but I'm not surprised the veterans are in there against Oakland. Especially when Reddick is hitting .350 over the last week. No one wants Reddick immediately benched for Tucker, but I think they should at least alternate days starting. I think it’s too soon to believe in Reddick’s hitting.

Especially when Reddick is hitting .350 over the last week. You make good points.,,.I just want to see more of Tucker at this point. We are finding out that all Straw can do at this level is run unless he turns it around. He should bunt more. I want to see more of Tucker also, but it's going to be a balancing act trying to rest guys, win homefield advantage, and keep guys on track with their timing and such. I think Hinch has actually done a very good job of balancing playing time down the stretch, especially with taking advantage of these recent blowouts. As for Straw, he's doing exactly what he has done his whole minor league career: Get on base very well, steal bases well, and play very good defense. He just doesn't have any power. A guy that can play CF and SS while maintaining an OBP north of .350 and stealing bases at an 85+% success rate is awesome to have as a roleplayer. I agree he should bunt more though.

Y'all want homefield advantage badly, so why not play the hot hand? I'm more surprised that Stubbs hasn't gotten a start behind the dish yet.

If they keep performing badly against Oakland, they’ve got more to worry about than the Yankees.

They would only have to go 5-9 after the Oakland series to get 100 wins.

Against KC and LAA, etc.? Nah. Not that ice cold. Cole and JV each have 3 more starts, and Greinke at least 2 more. They can win 5 of those last 8 starts at least.

His great performance went wasted by an ineffective James who pitched to 4 batters and blew the game.

We beat oakland whe Greinke started and have the advantage tonight with Verlander. We will have it if Cole faces them. In a short series, the A's will never see Miley. They would get only the top 3.

I hope we don’t face Oakland in the playoffs. unfortunately the 1-seed means we face Oakland or Tampa Bay in the 1st round, as opposed to Minnesota who lost a couple key guys recentlyTampa Bay and Oakland both give us trouble.

I wish we could play Seattle but since we can't I'd take Oakland over Tampa Bay, No way do I want to play in that ballpark.

For a team with the dubious honor of being the first to have 100 losses three seasons in a row, I consider three straight 100-win seasons as a sort of washing away of that sad past. That’s why it matters to me.
