102-54 In the #1 seed overall regardless of what happens on the 23rd. Team ERA+: 123 Team OPS+: 120
Cole vs. Dunn
1. Cole needs a win to have a chance at 20 for the year. With a mediocre day from JV, Cole is only 8 points behind in ERA. He's also 12 Ks away from setting a new Astros season record. 2. Springer is now only 6 RBI from being our 3rd player reaching the 100 RBI mark. 3. Bregman has gotten his WAR up to 7.8 (only .5 behind Trout), but he has been passed by Semien slightly at 7.9. I don't think it will matter a whole lot, but it could steal some votes away from Bregman for the writers that heavily favor WAR. 4. Yordan is 3 HR away from 30. 5. We have 6 guys with an OPS over .900 at the moment.

In the meantime, we're going to start having bake sales all around town to cover the cost to keep him. First I have to learn how to bake.

True story: The doctor who delivered me in Rusk, Tx, strangled all of his children and his wife about 4 days after I was born. He died in the prison at Huntsville in the mid 70s. I've been having that effect on people ever since.

Go Cole! Crane/Luhnow: pay that man his money... I think Cole loves being with the Astros and wants to sign..........It is a MUST to sign him and Springer. Springer may be easier to sign and he is the heart and soul of this team. I think he is worth what we are paying Altuve and Cole would probably accept the yearly salary we pay Verlander. I'd offer him a 5-7 year deal.

I was born not too far away in Nacogdoches.

You will soon be one of Bortaz' favorites. As far as baking, not even the industrial bakeries will generate that kind of dough.

Poor Doctor. If he did it today he could have just framed it as a post birth abortion and gotten away with it and become a hero of the lunatic left. How appropriate for a Doctor in Rusk.
I almost forgot. He'd have to say he felt like a woman too.

Hopefully the offense will score early and often and AJ will let Cole get his 5 innings in to qualify for the W then take him out.

For the offense to put up a lot of runs early allowing Cole to go 5 and leave would be perfect. Our pen should be in great shape now that Peacock and Pressly are back. Maybe we can have an 8-10 run lead in the 9th so we could use Devenski.

back when the valley was white. Was it ever white? Well, it was white-led and had the appearance of whiteness. All the businesses used to be Smith, Jones, etc, where now they're Moreno, Hernandez and Trevino. Back in the day all the political offices were white.

I'm really hoping that these bad teams to end the season with don't make the Astros complacent in the playoffs.

If he expects Correa to peform in the post-season, he needs at bats...not days off. He has had a large chunk of the season off sitting on his ass while the other playes did their jobs and covered for him.

I'm not sure they're worried about him being ready. Besides, do you want to risk more health issues right before the playoffs? We don't need him against these remaining scrubs. Just give him a start or two to keep his timing.
