We do. Straw and Altuve can. They don't seem to want them to. I wouldn't call either one a specialist as Straw doesn't play that often and Altuve would rather swing for the fences with runners on. Knowing how to and doing it are two different things.
Yadi gave himself up to move the runner over to 3rd with only 1 out. I would like to see players like Altuve or Reddick take that approach sometimes.
Again though, I believe it's because they're being told to. I think they could just fine.

I think that is one knock on the Astros lineup is that everyone feels like they can drive in runs. We don't have a specialist that can bunt or simply put the ball in play when needed. *****

Carlos Martinez is a thrower, not a pitcher.

Former Astros players let the Braves down tonight. Keuchel did the usual: allow a lot of baserunners but is deemed good for not allowing them to score. Melancon was utter garbage.

Keuchel and McCann did well. Braves got pitching changing happy.

Wild Card I got the first game of the Bracket Challenge. Washington Next up is TB... Division St Louis LA Minnesota Houston LCS Houston LA WS Houston So far so good. Washington and TB were my picks to survive the WC round. St. Louis beat Atlanta and LA is leading Washington and are my picks for the NLD series.
Of course, even if I pick them all right, the tie breakers will determine the winner.

It is safe to say Strickland wasn't fooling anyone at the plate tonight.

It is safe to say Strickland wasn't fooling anyone at the plate tonight. At this point, I think 90% of the baseball comunity saw the Nat's as cannon fodder anyway.

"Citing "league insiders," Cerrone wrote that the San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, New York Mets, Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers could be "capable of putting together an appealing package for Betts." If the Los Angeles Dodgers were interested, the Red Sox "would likely ask for" outfielder Joc Pederson and right-handed pitcher Kenta Maeda, in addition to the pair of prospects."
I originally posted this thinking we were interested, but it doesn't say that. It just says we could make it work package-wise. Does anybody think this is a good idea at all though?

In a vacuum, it would be a good move. But the cost over a replacement level player is too much for a team trying to just hang on to the players it already wants to retain.

If the manager calling him out didn't work, then his teammates need to At least they didn't hold a blanket party

Bear, hindsight is 20/20 but I reckon Brian Snitker might be having serious regrets today for not yanking Acuña out of the game immediately, yesterday. idk.

Most likely. Unless doing so would've pinched the roster. Sometimes that happens in the playoffs and maybe why Snitker's instinct was to let it lie
