What do little league coaches preach to their OF'ers, get in front of a ball hit in front of you. The ghost of Bill Buckner probably got a chuckle out of tonight's addition to his club.

Remember that egregious call against Straw on that pickoff? Hader got lucky. I missed that one. The pickoff was clean, but Straw made it to second on an offline throw from the 1B. Replays reversed the call to out. Astros later lost in extras.

The way the Nats fans celebrated Soto’s single had me rooting for them. They’ve been through a lot of losing and have been so close to moving on in the playoffs. The fans also deserved a little more Rendon time. Zimmerman is also a good guy to root for in the twilight of his career.

Being a Nats fan is like what it used to be like as an Astros fan. They just don’t rise up for big games. That place exploded when they took the lead. Beverages flying everywhere

Considering Scherzer looked like September Miley early tonight, Brewers should have dealt a knock out punch early. Missed opportunity. Come on, Max made it out of the first.

Good for the Washington Expos The Expos can relocate to ten cities .. they still have to get past the Dodgers ever since Rick Monday

Especially watching a life-time of Stros Baseball. The only thing I hated was that moron in the Batman shirt trying to distract Morton behind the home plate plexiglass. I hope his friends enjoy watching his dumb self forever on replays.

If we lose another bench coach after this season, would you like to see Ausmus back here?

If we lose another bench coach after this season, would you like to see Ausmus back here? Definitely Yes, just to get his experiences and insights on other teams of the past 10 years. Tips too, on how to nuetralize Trout. Will his ego let him take that big a cut in stature? I am guessing not. I see him getting an analyst job instead. He's well spoken, he would do well there.

I don't think he would settle for a bench coach. Somebody would take him as a commentator, I would bet, before he settles for anything less than a manager.

Keuchel named as the Game 1 starter for ATL. That could be interesting to watch. He had an overall solid season, but he trailed off at the end. His hopes of again trying for a big payday this offseason will ride a lot on his postseason performance.

My bad, did somebody already post that? I may be wrong but I think our fearless leader is referring to last season when Keuchel was pitching for a big contract during the playoffs.

Exactly...Saint posted the repeating history of Keuchel's career. Does good, tapers off, loses out on good contract, wash, repeat.

His hopes of again trying for a big payday this offseason will ride a lot on his postseason performance. Looking at all his non-volume statistics, his performance this year is near identical to last year. And that was a performance that almost all of us thought was indicitive of an "off-year" This confirms my thoughts that Kuechel is in decline, and Luhnow was smart for not re-signing. If the Braves are putting their eggs into that bearded basket, then they aren't quite as robust as i thought.

Seeing Braun go home makes me a happy camper. Even though I picked Milwaukee to win, I am very glad they didn't.
